'If It's Football, It's Vital'

3 out of 4 aint bad...

We were hoping that the 'fab four' of David James, Glen Johnson, Jermain Defoe and Peter Crouch would all start for England tonight against Germany in Berlin, and 75% will!

Sadly Crouch is the man to miss out as the other 3 start - although I am sure that he will get on at some point, and ideally alongside his Pompey striking teammate as it is an ideal opportunity to see the club strikeforce at national level...

Good luck to all the Pompey fellas tonight, lets hope they do us and themselves proud - but most importantly come through without any problems as we need them for some big, big games coming up at club level!

3 out of 4 .. oh well who are we to complain .. Would love to see Defoe score against the Germans and Jameo and Johnno keep a clean sheet... COME ON POMPEY.. whoops England !.. Hopefully Crouchy can get on at some stage !

When the commentator says 'Portsmouth have the largest contingent in the England side tonight with three and another, Peter Crouch, on the bench' you have to pinch yourself and ask am I dreaming? Heady days these if you are a Pompey fan.

1-0 Upson - playing well and keeping the ball well too.

so, half time an none of the ITV pundits have mentioned one word about how well Mr Johnson has done!! Carrick, Gabby, Downing, but no mention of our man!...shame as hes been pretty damn good this first half!
CharlieChimes
Defoe's been taken off with "a knock" which is just what we needed.
PhilTaglia
wow, I loved the ITV pundits... "so, what do you think of glen johnson? possible future right back?" - "yes, I think all the player's did themselves no harm"... they did that about 3/4 times!

defoe was MUCH better than bent was - both were in an uncomfortable position, however defoe showed how he is so much more flexible, and willing to work for the team. not just a goal poacher! Mr Cappello also got the tactics spot on. He spotted a weakeness in the german defence, and we took them to peices with our pace. job well done.
pompeycarpet
oh, and jamo's place definatly not under any threat what so ever
pompeycarpet
What was the point of bringing Peter Crouch on for the last90 seconds? Was it so that he would get an England Cap?
Gandor
lol i was thinking that i think it was to waste time but it actually made the game run over so i still have no idea good game though

Shame for Crouch, but the tactics were spot on!
