No extra Wolfsburg tickets for Pompey!

No extra Wolfsburg tickets for Pompey!

It was hoped that some extra tickets would be allocated to Pompey fans for the game with Wolfsburg in early December, but it has been revealed that 'there were no extra tickets available' - it will be interesting to see 'how full' the stadium is on the night!

This is what the Pompey Site said...

PLAY UP POMPEY!

==========

NO FURTHER WOLFSBURG TICKETS

Pompey will not be receiving an additional allocation of tickets for the UEFA Cup clash in Germany against Wolfsburg next month.

The current allocation of 2,600 tickets for the match on December 4 is oversubscribed.
The club have worked hard to try to get extra seats, but unfortunately there were none available.

Fans who attended both previous UEFA Cup matches in Portugal against Guimaraes and Braga are already ensured a ticket, as long as their application was received on time.

Further postal applications were then made by season ticket holders and members on a first come, first served basis.

Those who have been successful should have received their tickets and the club will be writing to the unsuccessful applicants in due course.

Really annoyed about this, bought flights and hotels for a group of 5 of us for this match as we couldn't all make the Braga match and as of today not got any tickets and nothings come off my card. Really miserable about this as feel like we've each wasted over £200 each!

Me too, StooH, but I am still going to go to Wolfsburg and either watch it in a pub - or try to get tickets. I am hoping to be able to get some for the 'neutral' area via someone I know who comes from Germany, so I'll try to get enough for your group of 5 as well. No promises, but I'll try. It will still be an amazing experience StooH just be be around even if we don't get in, don't give up hope!

understand what is being said - i know its easy for me to say but my thinking is, with or without tickets, this is going to be a great experience. i know its not the same, but the possiblity of big screens - like at the world cup - is being looked into, so the fans can gather...
hopefully tickets can be found somehow tho.

Thankfully we have our as we did both Portugal trips but really sorry for those who havn't. It looks like the german authorities didn't want a big invasion.

That's a bit daft though, as they are going to get a big invasion, but with a few hundred Pompey fans with no tickets. wouldn't it be better to have them in the stadium where they can be policed properly rather then kicking around in the town? short sighted idiots.

Two of us have had flights and hotel since the fixtures came out, just got the dreaded letter this AM. We are still going and hope to either get tickets out there or soak up the atmosphere and watch in a Bar. Either way we will be there. Still keep hearing of these travel organisations that manage to get tickets for their organised flights/coaches, so not sure how that is happening! Lets keep hassling the club not to give up on getting more tickets and see what happens. PUP

I've managed to order some tickets via a German address - I've got our 2, 2 for BarneyArmy, and I may have 5 left over - so if anyone else needs tickets please let me or PompeyRug know! They're in the neutral section, quite near the away section.

Evans - Right back or right midfield?

Drew Talbot and Adam Buxton are fit but Gareth Evans continues to fill in at right back. Should this change? If so where would it leave the battle between Evans and Carl Baker?
