I have called for your help to help the writers of Away Goal - Euro Chimes: Wolfsburg - click here, as so far I have had some response, but I and they - the FSF - want more!
In the meantime, and after the previously 'leaked' info, here is some more that will be in the next edition, which should again come in handy for those of you staying in/visiting nearby Hannover.
I cannot stress enough that this info, although likely to be spot in is not 100% in its accuracy at this point - by the time Away Goal - Euro Chimes: Wolfsburg goes to print it will be completely airtight...

Hannover
Many of you will be staying in or passing through Hannover so here are some tips that might help make your visit more enjoyable.
Hannover (note the second 'n' in the German spelling) is home to half a million people but is easy to get around and offers all the hospitality of a small town.
Dating from 1150, the city is now most famous as a major international trade fair and congress city. A green, spacious and attractive city, it has a large lake (Maschsee) and parkland next to the city centre.
The main station (hauptbahnhoff) was built in the 1870s and has been described as Germany's finest station. It also includes an outstanding shopping arcade.
Walking from the main entrance, across August Platz, you will then find a red line on the pavement (true - even before you start drinking - it leads to lots of tourist sites); follow it! It will take you across Georgstrasse, full of fine shops and home to Jack the Ripper's, Hannover's only English Pub. You will find the usual fast-food franchises around here, as well as Eiscafe Venezia, (check the Bailey's ice cream). Also recommended is the Ristorante Incontro, an Italian pizzeria on Andreaestrasse.
Carry on following the red line down Karmarschstrasse, and then you will pass the Market Church, built in the 1350s (next to the Dublin Inn) and the Old Town Hall, dating from 1455, and into the Altstadt (Old Town). On Knochenhaustrasse, the same street as the Old Town Hall, is the Café Konrad, a popular venue with the locals.
If you wish to continue sight-seeing, keep following the line to the Historical Museum, part of the old city walls, the Leibnizhouse and Holzmarktbrunnen fountain, and then Leine Castle, the seat of the State Parliament of Lower Saxony. Or you can explore the many bars and sample the local beers which include Gilde, Herrenhauser and Lindener. If you`re feeling adventurous (or just plain daft) try a Luttje Lage, a black beer with Schnapps and the local speciality, Grunkohl mit Bregenwurst (a cabbagey, sausagey meat-veg fusion).
A couple of hundred yards further along the 'Red Thread' and you come to the Kestner Museum and then the New Town Hall (the big grey thing by the lake), nearby is the HNB pub.
If you have the time, a little outside of the city, the Herrenhausen Royal Gardens, established in 1666, is worth a visit. Another longer trip, 29 miles to be precise, is to the picturesque old town of Hameln (think Pied Piper and rats).
