As other reports today say player after player will leave Tony Adams is being quoted in the Sunday Mirror as having admitted an interest in Patrick Vieira - who surely would not come cheap, wages wise if nothing else...
Bringing his former Arsenal teammate to Fratton is apparently something that he is exploring the opportunity of doing: 'he is a definitely a player I would like to bring here if he was available.
'I will be speaking to Inter manager Jose Mourinho and asking about him.
'With Patrick you know what you are getting - he is a proven winner and great character.'
Clearly he would be nowhere near as dynamic as Lassana Diarra but could be a replacement - but if we cannot afford to keep players and need to cash in on them, how could we afford the French legend, very much a veteran now at what, 34...

Another with Arsenal connections to Tony Adams is Martin Keown, and he yesterday confirmed on Football Focus that he will meet with his former teammate about a coaching role at Fratton: 'if I can help in any way it's something I am prepared to look at; that's why we are going to meet.
'I need to decide if it's something for me to do in my career. It would be quite a life-changing decision.
'Tony called me late last night and we're going to meet at the beginning of next week to discuss things and see if there might be an opportunity for me.
'We do ponder as ex-players, 'are we best served as a manager or as a coach?', and that's something I need to go through with my family.
'We'll have a chat and see what I can do to help him.'
Some say that Keown has the makings of a good coach, and is regarded among Arsenal fans - how much basis this has I do not know. One thing that I do know is we cannot afford to lose the experience of Joe Jordan, so bringing in Keown at his expense is something that concerns me - both, if possible would be good.
If it was one or the other, then I know that I would rather we stick to what we have...
