Jordan on draw with Fulham

Joe Jordan, who along with Tony Adams is in temporary charge at Pompey has told the Pompey Site that he felt we deserved all 3pts when we only collected the 1 against Fulham: 'the performance merited a victory and we're disappointed that we didn't get three points out of the match.

'The game could have been put to bed. From the chances we created, it should have been finished.

'We should have got to a stage where Fulham's goal didn't matter but when it's 1-0 you're always vulnerable.

'Generally speaking though, I thought our performance was first class. We played exceptionally well, especially in the second half.

'The players did their talking on the pitch and showed that they're good players. The support they got from the crowd was important.

'But they all understand that it's two points dropped.'

That momentary lapse of concentration at the back, coupled with our failure to take so many chances presented cost us at the weekend but I was still more than pleased with the response that we got from the players and the way the fans reacted. All the players were really good, some exceptional.

Lassana Diarra and Younes Kaboul both returned - from the start - with Niko Kranjcar making a surprise return to the bench, and he came on for a cameo role late on. Having them all back pleased Jordan: 'it was nice to see them all back.

'Lassie's had a problem with his knee which thankfully has cleared up.

'He's an important player that can make us tick. He can control the ball, pass it and play people into the game.

'Younes came in and did exceptionally well. He's over his back injury and got his opportunity.

'It was a huge plus to get Niko on as well.'

We should have won, but as said I cannot fault the players really - apart from their misses - and nor did Jordan, who did also talk about the departed Harry Redknapp but this game was not about him, he has moved on so he will not get that moment in this article as this game was nothing to do with him - apart from the fact that he assembled the players that featured!

Having not seen the game or any highlights I can't really comment, but well done to Tony and Joe for taking control. Here is to us beating the Pool on Wednesday!

I think we were quite niave at the end with the subs. Not sure bringing Niko made much sense. The loss of Diarra let them back into a game we should have won a lot earlier. End to a bad few days. Oh and an away trip to top of the table Liverpool. Just what we need.

I thought the Players did well. They must have felt unsettled. Hope they noticed how the fans were behind them.
