Pompey linked with French youngster

Pompey linked with French youngster

If Pompey did not really have any money to spend towards the end of the summer transfer window, the suggestion that we would come January does not seem that likely - and even though the transfer window is not open again for a few months this is not stopping us from being linked with players...

The player of 'apparent interest' to Pompey is Lens midfielder Razak Boukari. He is 20 I believe and a French u21 international, who is said to prefer a move to the premier league over French rivals Nice or Strasbourg - hence links to Pompey I guess!

The 'reports' are that he is available for 'just' £2m.

To be honest I do not know enough about him to comment, so I could not say if he would even be worth picking up - going on the assumption that these 'rumours' are true.

But given the problems we can sometimes have in midfield then maybe he would be worth a punt, then again we have to pay wages on top of that fee so if we could not afford a free agent, Stephan Appiah, because of his wage demands could we afford a fee and then wages on top? Then again, maybe there is more than meets the eye with the fact that the Ghanaian is still without a club? For no one to have picked him up yet seems slightly odd...

Anyway, back to Boukari I had a look on t'internet but could not really find much, the best I could manage was this clip from a Lens game - he scores the 1st goal.

Remember though, clips on t'internet can sometimes be misleading - as we have found out...

Anyone know much about Boukari - if so, and lets just say we did have the money, would he be worth the punt?

Can't say I know anything about him. The person to ask would be Diarra :) Nice goal he scored though in the clip, but a few of those tackles looked more like me tryiong to defend than professional footballers.

Did anyone watch Soccer AM on Saturday? Helen Chamberlain was saying that we've signed some youngster who's Dad is in some way connected to the show - I think she said the name was 'Tash' or something like that. Anyone know anything about that? I don't think it was some joke and I don't think I was dreaming it. Maybe if it's just for the Academy then it won't make the news though.

I can't see too much happening at the moment. We'll be linked with all sorts but it's those goimng that concern me. W need to keep hold of the Diarra's & get rid of the Utaka's.

An unexpected visitor

Pompey's Burgess was clearly at a loose end when the game at Crawley was postponed. That much was initially obviously with the level of desire to be involved in footie later revealed.

Cook - no need for a prolific marksman

Cook has said Pompey's lack of a 25 goal striker - I still think we have one - isn't going to impact on our promotion chances. I can see both sides of Cookie's opinion here to be fair.
