'Pompey Match Day Live!'

'Pompey Match Day Live!'

You may, or may not, be aware that Vital Pompey runs a 'match day live' feature that allows those that cannot make it to a Pompey game the chance to stay in touch with it and your fellow Pompey fans, allowing you to sharing our views on a game as it progresses.

This feature takes place for all Pompey games played away from Fratton - as myself and the rest of this sites team are season ticket holders this cannot take place for home games, as clearly none of us are around to start the thread!

However for all games that Pompey play away from Fratton myself - pompeyrug - or one of the co-eds, usually paultsmouth, will get an article up and running that we use as our means of following the game and sharing out thoughts on it as it progresses.

Around 30-45 minutes prior to kick off, when the teams - for both sides - are known they are published in the form of an article, we then use the comments section below to discuss the game as we follow it, however this may be - and there are various ways of following a game even if you are not in attendance...

On average we get around 100-200 comments per game, with a good handful dropping in during the game so why not join us right here when following Pompey away from home - if you cannot be at the game you may as well remain among your fans right here on Vital Pompey!

Here is an example of one of the 'Pompey match day live' features previously run so you can see what I mean - click here.

This has proven to be a success, so the more of us that get involved the more successful it will be yet still - I have several ideas in my mind as to how we can make this feature even better, but whilst I work on them why not simply enjoy the feature as it currently is, and certainly currently works!

So, all that is left to ask is who will be here on Saturday when we travel to Villa Park?

errr. Ceiling painiting, glossing the skirting boards & door frames. Hate it with a passion but must keep the wife happy before I disappear to Portugal!!!

I'll be around, Rug, but it takes all the computer's capacity to run the PSP channel to watch the football, so I won't be able to be on the site at the same time. I'll come on and comment shortly after the final whistle though!

Team: James, Johnson, Campbell, Distin, Pamarot, Traore, Davies, Diop, Little, Crouch, Defoe. So Little gets the nod over Utaka. Good!

Tough one today, especially without Diarra but everything crossed.

No More Quarter Final Replays For Pompey

Should Portsmouth progress through to an FA Cup quarter final from the 2016/17 season onwards, the game will no longer be subject to a replay.

On this day in history...27th May

A look back at this day in history, and what was happening with Pompey courtesy of our sister site PompeyRama, 27th May.

Chesterfield's O'Shea targeted

Although so far Pompey have had two bids turned down for Chesterfield's O'Shea. Will, assuming another bid (as it's expected) is made, it be third time luck for the Blues?

It wasn't Real Madrid but Bristol City isn't bad!

Contrary to what I just wrote (muppet that I am) this isn't at Fratton this is at Ashton Gate with Pompey heading to Bristol City on Saturday 30th July, with a 3pm kick-off.
