'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Uefa cup fixtures - confirmed

With the draw made earlier today, we knew that we would face Milan, Heerenveen, Braga and Wolfsburg in group E - we now know where we go and when!

We will face Milan and Heerenveen at Fratton, with our away European tours continuing in Portugal - again - with a trip to Braga, which is close to Guimarăes and Germany to face Wolfsburg.

These are the dates, and venues, the games will take place - sadly no San Siro visit for Pompey - according to the Pompey Site...

Thursday, October 23: Braga (A)
Thursday, November 27: AC Milan (H)
Thursday, December 4: Wolfsburg (A)
Wednesday, December 17: Heerenveen (H)

So, there we go fellas, first stop last week Portugal, next up... well, Portugal again and then Germany - so who fancies one of both of these trips...

Sadly no San Siro? I'm not upset about having to play Milan at home, they should be the strongest of the lot so i'd much rather play them at home than away. At FP we've a chance against anyone. It would of course be nice to visit the San Siro but if we've only one crack at them lets have it where we've got our best chance. Next season the group stages change to home and away legs so we can hopefully go there next season.

Well, we are going again. 2 more road trips but still gutted it's not Milan. I wish I hadn't got mu hopes up. Apologies for the confusion, bl00dy beeb & sultana websites.

I am devestated. I'm on holiday in Cyprus with the mrs for that week of 27th november. Can't believe im going to miss it. Absolutely Gutted

All these matches welcome as they are, are squuezed in between many winnable league games. Something will have to give over the 8 week period.

Fantastic AC Milan at home, Ronaldinho, Kaka, Dida....all on Fratton soil! Even better that all our season ticket holders can see it aswell. In my opinion, better to get them at home but away.
pompey4me
Yes there is that P4M, i'm only miffed because for a while I believed we had got the mother of away games & no we havn't.
storagematt
Dida is no longer the no. 1 goalkeeper at AC Milan, I think. But, considering it's a cup game, there is chance he would be played. Fortunately, Gattuso, Ronnie, Kaka all make the difference
Lysimachus
I would love to go on an away leg. The Portugal one is too close to sort out any sort of finances so I will look to Wolfsberg for any chance. Just glad we got AC at Fratton so all the fans can enjoy that one! We will need our supporters voices then!
sneakay
It's a shame we're not going to the San Siro but it's the tie that I was dreaming of the minute we lifted the cup. I can't wait.
stillthewhizz
Got flights and hotels booked in Wolfsburg! Now just the issue of getting a ticket, I think we're only guaraneed 1500 due to their capacity, hopefully they'll chuck us a few more :-)
stooH
All this for £20 adult and a £5 Kids, Great value!
pompey4me
i was gutted at not getting milan in the san siro as the chances of playing there, maybe even playing milan again are slim but on reflection in a way im happier its at fratton as this allows thousands of people - season tickets and long term fans - the chance to watch us take on the might of milan, so many more than could have gone to milan! its a crowning glory for us, and as simon says all for £20 each - bargain!
pompeyrug
We have waited a long time to play a team like Milan in a competetive game, i really thought it was a mistake. I wonder how those superstars will feel when they arive at Fortress Fratton. Lets hope we can do a Norwich and knock the other Milan side out.
Owenspompey
Doubt we will knock them out Chris but take some point(s) of them would be fantastic.
eastneydave
if we can get through the group stages, we could always have another chance of playing against them later in the competitition...
pompeycarpet
Milan at Fratton that will do me,& hopefully party time on the 17th December early Christmas for Pompey & we will singing "ITS GONNA BE A BLUE BLUE CHRISTMAS IN POMPEY".
pompeyyong
Do you reckon Milan will fancy Fratton? Nor me!
paultsmouth
Milan won't like coming to Portsmouth either. Riding over Copnor Bridge, down the small alleyway in to Fratton Park. In to the smallest changing rooms in the Premiership, let alone Europe, and although the San Siro is loud Fratton Park the crowd are right on top of the players. I can see Pompey possibly edging this one
harrissman
I don't support Pompey but I hope the AC Milan tie is on Channel 5 as it should be a cracking match.
Markcity
It will be on channel 5 Markcity as we are waiting on them for the kick off time
pompeyyong
My cousin reckons Milan aren't doing too well in their league at the moment, They are 8th. So perhaps we may have a chance with a bit of luck and if everyone is on form.
Gandor
Don't read to much into that Gandor who are 8th in the prem yes you guessed it Manchester United
pompeyyong
Do you know Yong, I thought that after I wrote it. But as the News said tonight. We have four England players and loads of other internationals in our team. We can surely give them a game at least!
