I am going to keep this nice and simple, yep I know it is only one and a half games - and we have seen how some can 'shine early on before fading away' - but I think we have seen enough to say lets bring in Nadir Belhadj on a permanent deal!

We say it is a season loan with the option to buy, lets just pray that we take this option to buy, as the fella looks fantastic! If only we could also bring in Armand Traore from Arsenal permanently as well, but this seems highly unlikely... you would think?

So as the Fratton End were singing to Belhadj - not that he would have understood it! - as he took a corner last night towards the end of the game:

'Sign him up, sign him up, sign him up!'

he was fantastic last night - dare I say it, he was better than traore and glen johnson? even diara's performance died a little in the second half (maybe he will have a break next wednesday...) but belhadj kept on running!

Would love the geezer, looks a bit like Skopelitis though doesn't he? Not his playing style though!

I couldn't believe my eyes Saturday, Last night confirmed it! The man is my new hero...He's so fast I thought he was on a motorbike, Never stopped Tackling, Running and looking for the ball. God I hope we sign him. And he plays like he's having fun. He earns the ultimate accolade from me, He makes me want to pay to watch him...That is pure entertainment!

'Cyrano' was outstanding last night and also when he came on on Saturday.. Might be a bit early to sign him up based on 2 showings, but let's face it ..had we had paid £4 million we would be claiming it was money well spent .. I'll sit on the fence at the mo but the signs are excellent and I think (and hope) he'll become a great player for us .. He shows the 'will to win' which many players lack these days

The lads got the right attitude and that won't be a five minute wonder. You either have it or you don't, and if you do have it, it won't leave you. Its funny how it only takes one or two players and all of a sudden you have a team you almost don't recognise. Got to give it to Harry, he seems to know how to put it all together. Lets hope Peter Storey "put it all together" when he negotiated for this lad. What a tragedy if.... no I'm not even going to say it!

Chix get off the fence that belongs to me!! The only we have not seen from him so far is a winger against him and that might come on Sunday against the Sheiks. Gandor apparently HR had never seen Belhadj play it was the scouts that made him go and sign him! And of course he has pinched Yong's number 39.

On carpet's point about Lassie I noticed he was wearing bicycle shorts last night so maybe he has a groin problem or something similar.

same thoughts here Dave, my spurs mate said he was gutted spurs hadnt gone for Belhadj and now i know why, i thought Diarra was great but Belhadj was a close run second. Not for me any doubt he was upo and at em for 90 mins no chixydaveynambipambi fence sitting for me,no sir he is better than anything else we have, i say sign the fellah and quick about it.

Going forward he's great & superb crossing, not yet fully tested deffending but very quick getting back as well as getting forward, if he plays this well I don't mind him pinching my number 39 Dave.

Saw him against the Borough , he looked like he wanted the ball and was ready to help the team . Same again last night full of commitment . Question though with the left side full of activity these days with the likes of Belhadj and Traore - where will Kranjcar fit in when he is fit??? on the right ?? any sugestions ??

i would say kranjcar in the middle in a free role - him, diarra and davis, he is ideally suited in a 3-5-2 formation if you ask me...

Where will Kranjcar fit in? He can sit next to me in the South stand!

I think that kranjcar possibly will fit in on the right in 4-4-2. Yes, the team is suited for 3-5-2, but what makes us good (i think) is that we are flexible - and that means we can play 4-4-2 too. and I am sure harry will want him in a 4-4-2 side... but wont want to drop traore or belhadj!

Kranjcar will fit right alongside Fabregas .. come January.. and if it means we can keep Diarra for maybe even half a season more I'd happily pack his bags for him...

yep, ive seen enough to suggest we are on to a massive winner here... HR is getting credit, but to be fair it was our scout, ian broomfield, that kept bugging him to sign him and im delighted we have, albeit on loan - sign him up, sign him up, sign him up!
also agree with you chixy, ideally keeping both to play in the middle of the park - a free role for kranjcar would be fantastic - would be brilliant, but if keeping diarra, even until the end of the season could happen i would let niko move on in the new year sales...

someone on the forum said "who do you have on the back of your shirt?" and "who's your favourite player?" - I think Belhadj could become that man!

I see Kranjcar being played in a central role wher i think he'll be a far better player than he is on the left, he has so much talent that to push him out on the fringes makes no sense to me, get him in the middle and crouch and defoe will score hatfulls. Belhadj certainly looks to be a quality player but i'd like to see a bit more off him before we sign him, the language barrier can create massive problems for players. Why would you wish that on yourself Mr Gandor? Having sat near behind him on a number of occasions not leat the Cup Final i wouldn't wish that for anyone. Just in front of him would be better so you don't have to peer round his bloody hat!
