Free pfcTV coverage will include commentary!

Free pfcTV coverage will include commentary!

The news that pfcTV was to become free was meet with a good reception - the highlights package from the uefa cup game yesterday was good, and this was on quicker than highlights usually have been, but some question marks had been left unanswered...

Some had not been impressed with what we were getting, to be honest I have not checked out the new free service until the highlights package this morning - but for nothing can we really moan?

My biggest concern, or worry really, was that as I live in Devon as I could not get local radio and with this no longer an option I could pay for I would miss out on some commentaries.

Getting The Quay online can often prove troublesome for me - so I feared that I would not be able to listen to away games anymore! Home games I can go to, as I am a season ticket holder, but I could not manage not being able to listen to us when we were on the road if I was not going, or it was not on the box...

Fear not though my fellow Pompey fans, 'the landlord' has been on the case and chased this up and I can confirm that the new free pfcTV will also include radio coverage - but we will have to wait until October, these are the important things you need to know in replies I got from pfcTV:

'I can appreciate your below concerns but I can inform you that the radio will also be free to listen to on the Official site but not until October.

'We are just building a player that can sit on the site which will host it.'

Now, we cannot moan at this can we guys?

Yep I can moan!... All the old aspects of PFCtv that as a subscriber I used to get for £4 a month have been taken away .. I can no longer view previous season matches, watch the 'greatest goals' or 'classic matches' .. It may be free to all and called PFCtv.. but it is not the PFCtv that I was happy to subscribe to... A good move for the majority (as it's free) but for those of us happy to pay for the service as was ... its been severely downgraded. Just goes to show you can't please all of the people any of the time.

you say that tho chixy, but maybe - much like the commentary that is coming along soon - these others features will also join it shortly?
ype the best goals and that were good but tbh for the money i paid - and i paid up a whole year - the only time i used it last season was to listen to games, so if i can do this, and better still do this for free for away ones im more than happy...

chix - as I said on another thread (before pfc said this) - I read somewhere that all the features would be restored some time in november (I wasnt sure if it was the 1st or fifteenth, or some other time) - I think they will all come back though.

Do ya reckon there's gonna be adverts on the clips? I think I've read somehere that the service is powered by Sky and they're gonna want to make some money back somehow.

Third time lucky? Nope as O'Shea interest ends

O'Shea saw a couple of bids for him put in; these were turned down by Chesterfield. A third bid hasn't come from Pompey and it isn't going to either.

Topping last seasons tally the aim

78pts was only enough for a play-off place last season so you suspect we'll have to better that for a top 3 finish this coming season, which begins with Carlisle at Fratton.

Done Deal - Smith in permanently from Swindon

The interest Pompey retained in Smith, with him 'in our sights' has resulted in him returning to the Blues on a permanent basis after signing for an 'undisclosed fee' from Swindon.
