Ticket info for Vitoria away

Those that want to travel to Portugal for our uefa cup 1st round 2nd leg against Vitoria now know how they can get hold of tickets - but this is not going to be easy from the sounds of things!

This is the official information given on the Pompey Site...

PLAY UP POMPEY!

==========

VITORIA SC V POMPEY: TICKET INFORMATION

Tickets for Pompey's UEFA Cup first round, second leg clash at Vitoria SC will go on sale to season ticket holders and members only at 9am on Saturday, September 20.

Pompey have been given an initial allocation of 3,000 seats.

They will be sold only to personal callers at Pompey's ticket office in Rodney Road, and will be offered on a first come, first served basis.

You may purchase only one ticket per person. You cannot purchase tickets on behalf of anyone else.

Tickets are priced at £30, with no concessionary prices.

Subject to availability, seats will go on general sale on Monday, September 22, to personal callers at the club's ticket office.

In all cases please ensure you have your passport and client ID number with you - if you do not bring these you will not be sold a ticket.

The match will be played at the Estadio D.Afonso Henriques in Guimaraes on Thursday, October 2, kick-off 9.30pm.

==========

Having to collect tickets in person will no two ways about it cause chaos, as we have to remember that some fans live hundreds of miles away so getting to the ticket office in person is not as easy in theory as it is in practice!

This just is not going to be a viable option for so many people - although I am sure that the club will have other measures in place to ensure things are sorted to cater for those that will find this difficult... I would at least hope!

I am assuming that going with the PFC travel package negates the need to do or worry about any of this. As you say, in person only and only 1 ticket per person will cause a lot of problems

Crazy plan methinks. Write more later.

do they actually WANT people to go to the game?!

Errr. 75 mile round trip. Working on that Saturday. 2 of my friemds are away on hoilday???????????????????????????????????? Having paid a 'small' price to go independently the clubb come us with this?

Are they serious??????!!!!!!! In person only!!!!
pentonpompey
Do you know? i wondered where my 4yr old goes during the week. I now know; it's down to Portsmouth to work in the ticket allocation ideas office. Silly me, I foolishly thought he had started school.

Having come back I think this will start a huge rumpus. You could buy Cup Final ticket on behalf of other people why not European tickets unless Vitoria have dictated these terms. I think I have some investigating to do.
eastneydave
if vitoria are the ones who have dictated this, then it is the only reasonable excuse. in person only will, as everyone has said, cause chaos. as for one person only, that means you can't sit with the person you are travelling with. perhaps this is to encourage people to go for the official package instead of buying it all seperately.

Shambles. Surprisingly....

Are we all classed as English hooligans & there is a police check going on here?
storagematt
The word on the streets is that this is what Pompey's travel partner wants. Only three planes booked on the official trip when they expected TEN. Are they trying to push fans onto their planes??
eastneydave
definitely trying to push people onto the official package. its the only reasonable excuse for these outrageous ticket arrangements.
jbaker
Tbh if you haven't already booked your plane tickets independently, then go with the official package. I know it seems expensive, but its going to cost pretty much the same to do it independently, (my calcuations anyway) and you do get match tickets without having to queue up all night. And you get taken to and from the match and Porto airport and the hotel. (as long as Thomsons don't go bust). And you either go from Bournemouth, which is cheap and easy, or there's a coach to Gatwick for £20. But yes, they are trying to push people on the official package, and it worked for me.
