'If It's Football, It's Vital'

It must be Crouch's goal/Cranie to join Linvoy

It is still not clear who will actually get the 3rd goal that Pompey scored against Everton yesterday, but surely this must be credited to Peter Crouch...

Whilst the video replays clearly show that Jermain Defoe's initial lob, which was fantastic, had actually crashed back off the bar and crossed the line, it so it was his goal as the linesman did not flag for a goal - so he was not giving it - as Crouch followed up to head home it has got to be his goal?

The 'dubious goal panel' cannot take the goal away from him and award to Defoe as had Crouch not followed up to head home would the goal have even been given?

Judging by the lack of a flag from the linesman you would think no - so on that basis had Crouch not headed home we would not have been awarded the 3rd goal, hence this must be his goal...

==========

According to 'reports' on sky sports we are going to be loaning Martin Cranie to Charlton - where he will join Linvoy Primus - for 6-months, so in essence the season.

This is a deal that has been spoken about several times over the months and is one you suspect we would welcome as it would raise a little money - but also gives him 1st team football, although by doing this we cannot be moaning about being down to 'the bare bones' should this happen...

I still think that Cranie has a fantastic future ahead of him, so I hope that this is a loan move and nothing more, and we have not included the 'option to buy'...

I agree, cranie has a fantastic future ahead of him - and joining linvoy at charlton will also be a good thing - although possibly loaning him till januarry would be sensible. As for the crouch/defoe goal - the linesman doesnt need to do anything to say that it's a goal, so defoe could argue that it WAS going to be given - they just was a a littel hesitation...

Sky have the goal down as a Defoe goal, so I will go with them. Especially as Defoe is in my fantasy footie team! lol

As the linesman didn't call the goal when Defoe struck it against the crossbar, surely it should go to Crouch, on the rebound. It did look like a Defoe goal though. That's a good move for Cranie, future potential to be a quality player later on in his career.

Has to be Crouch's goal, he's in my fantasy league team!

What a nice problem we have! But many a goal has gone in & not been given! Crouch made sure which stopped any awkward moments for the officals. Goal to Crouch in my opinion.
storagematt
neither are in my fantasy league team... so i'll have to award it to johnson as he probably touched the ball somewhere... talking about fantasy football, I couldnt help but see who was top of our mini league...

Said elsewhere that Mrs eastneydave (Dawn) and I both think it should be Crouch's goal as Linesman did not give it and dubious goals committee cannot change official's decisions. Too many worried about fantasy points here!! Good luck to Cranie at the Valley.

as far as im concerned its crouchy's goal!
what do i do on the predictions league tho? some have crouch, some have defoe, some have both! im not just saying this as i had crouchy down but as far as this goes im giving it to crouchy - sorry guys, or maybe its 'good'...

Yeah I reckon its Crouch's goal even though Defoe is in my dream team. Good luck to Cranie hope the lad does well. Hope we keep him though as he is definately one for the future. Speaking of goals, great to see Johnson get a corker as well, very well taken on the outside of his left boot. Much better being given the role of a proper wing back.

Definately Cranies goal and I think a spell at Chalton will do Crouch the world of good...
Chix
If Crouch had not put it in there would not have been a goal at all. So it can only be Crouch's goal, tough on Defoe thou.
