History awaits!

For the first time in our 110-year history the name of Portsmouth football club will today be in the pot for a European draw, with the uefa cup draw being made at lunchtime.

Never before has a European draw been met with such anticipation from a Pompey fans points of view - but today at midday the uefa cup draw takes place so I am sure that we will all be as close to a radio, in front of the box, have mobiles to had and so on as possible in order to find out as quickly as we can who and were Pompey will play! This draw is live on Eurosport I believe, so these at home can watch this from 12noon...

There is one Scottish and one Irish side left in the pot, so maybe we will make the short journey closer to home? Perhaps we will get the chance of a nice day trip to France, Belgium or Holland - with the benefits that go with each! We might get the delights of the Czech Republic or sunny Spain? Germany, Holland, Portugal or Italy, maybe somewhere in Scandinavia - it could even be the arse end of Lithuania! Whatever, we are there!

The one thing that we do know is that we do not care who we play, or on the whole where we play - the main thing is we are in the pot.

Portsmouth football club is venturing into Europe for the first time ever, and this is not for the Anglo Italian cup or an ill fated pre-season tour, we are mixing it with the big boys - and trust me this seasons uefa cup has plenty of them...

Lets hope for a decent draw, as getting past round 1 and into the group stages would see our European tour then last for at least another 4 games, with 2 more games on the road, wherever it might be!

Let's hope it ain't a massive anti-climax. yes we must get past the first round & into the group stages or it will a massive let down. It won't be as easy as we think either.

You watch, some tinpot club from the Faroes, or Liechenstein or Luxembourg etc will be served up! But in all seriousness, a couple of easier ties until the group stages would be nice.

we are seeded and will face one of these sides
Portuguese side Vitoria SC
German club VfL Wolfsburg
Turkish outfit Kayserispor
FC Salzburg of Austria
Lithuania's FBK Kaunas.
as we are seeded i think that means we will be away for the 1st leg and home for the 2nd...

Just seen this. Well that doesn't look that straight forward! A team from Germany or Portugal could be tricky. I'm buggered if the away leg is on 18th but hope we get thru so I can do an away game in the group stages!

I'm stuffed on the away leg but I wouldn't have fancied Turkey or the Russian state. The rest look great. Anyway, just gutted I won't be there!
