'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Linvoy officially joins Charlton on a 3-month loan

After so much rumour and speculation Linvoy Primus has finally completed a loan move to Charlton - but only on a 3-month deal!

Charlton had claimed, and officially, that he had joined them on loan for the season but despite initially saying nothing at all Harry Redknapp eventually said that he could go out on loan, but only until Christmas as he wanted him back for the New Year. With this the deal seemed to be cancelled...

However it has now happened and Primus is happy with the move, and sees it as a good opportunity to return to a club he knows well and work on his match fitness, telling the Pompey Site: 'it's good. I have a connection to Charlton and I`m also going to be close to my family.

'And it's a great opportunity for me to play football at a high standard, with a club who have ambitions and are moving forward.

'Initially it was a little bit out of the blue when I was asked if I would consider going out on loan. I thought about it for a little while, but the answer had to be yes, really.

'It's a chance for me to get fit - match fit that is - and to play regular football, which I need to do.'

I have not hidden my displeasure at our lack of comment on this matter at our end, as I felt a person of Linvoy's standing, and for all he has done for this club deserved some sort of comment. But maybe, just maybe we have said nothing because nothing had been arranged - although would a few words in a statement really have gone amiss...

I think that this is a good move, and I am not opposed to it at all but I look forward to seeing him back at Fratton in the New Year and await the moment when we see him pull on that Pompey shirt again in a competitive match.

This is also a move that he is looking forward too, but he cannot wait to return: 'there was some confusion over the length of the loan, but it is for three months.

'I expect to be back in three months time to challenge for a place in the Pompey team, which is what I want.

'The only way I can put myself in a position to get into the team is to play football, so I needed to do this and that's why I'm going to Charlton.'

'It's only for three months and I'll be back before you know it.'

This is a good move, and I wish him all the best. It is a move that will see him get his 10-15 games that he wants, and needs - he should then be ready to play a part in our season for what will be left of it, and as long as he is fully fit and recovered he will have a part to play!

Getting Linvoy match fit is the key here. We may yet see him in a Pompey shirt.

Sounds like good news all round. Isn't Xmas 4 months though?

I hope it is Dave, otherwise the kids are in for a surprise!

Makes sense for all. Good luck Linvoy, see you soon.

Linvoy`s attitude and commitment to this club has been outstanding, I hope some of rubs off on some of the younger players when they are conducting themselves on/off the pitch. Saying that, some of the senior players could learn a thing or two from him as well! He`s got a lot to do, it will be tough to get back into the back line but I`m sure that Linvoy will work his socks off and get back in the side on merit not sentiment.

Good luck Linvoy; looking forward to your home-coming and a place in the 1st team squad.

This is an ideal arrangement, gives Linvoy the help he needs to get back into a Pompey shirt.
