'If It's Football, It's Vital'

'Big Phil' drops SWP exit hint...

Lets face it if Chelski were to let Shaun Wright-Phillips leave it would not really be that much of a surprise would it?

'Big Phil' Scolari had earlier in the summer ruled out selling the winger, but he was going to do nothing less was he... The player also ruled out leaving Stamford Bridge, but again he was going to say nothing less either!

It is also the worst keep secret that Harry Redknapp is desperate to bring him in, so if he can somehow raise the funds his wish will be granted with Scolari saying: 'we have 26 players now.

'If I lose one or two, it's not a problem for me because I have a minimum 24 or 25.

'I don't know if some clubs want Shaun and I don't know what the player thinks about offers from other teams but as I've said before, if I have 24 or 25 and three or four players for two positions, I am happy.

'I have three or four players in this position - right wing, left wing. If the club sell one or two players more, it's not a problem for me.'

Chelski paid 21m for him but know they will take a massive loss on him if sold - some reports claim he could go for us little as 8m, which if we could offload some of the players that we have been trying to we might be able to get somewhere near to that amount... But Villa and Citeh are also heavily 'linked', as are Sunderland and Newcastle now.

There is some talk he 'could' go out on loan, but we have our full quota of loan players now, and even if we did not it is my understanding that we could only have 1 player from Chelski anyway and we already have this in Ben Sahar. So to even have a chance of loaning Wright-Phillips we would need to sign the Israeli, like we did Jerome Thomas earlier in the week - but it is not known if Chelski will even sell him, how much he would cost or if we could even afford that!

In an ideal world we would bring him in on a season loan with the view to signing next summer, but things are much easier in theory than they are in practice... I do not have much doubt that he will leave Chelski before the transfer window closes, in January at the latest, and whilst it might seem unlikely at the moment I would not be surprised to see us pull something out of the bag to see him come here...

The only way we are gonna get SWP to Pompey is by starting a whip round... Right .. everybody empty there pockets and let's have a count up...
..Right I've got 54.38p and a bottletop who's next...
Can we have him on loan? :)
You can all laugh and say told you so if we get him. But; Ive got more chance of joining Pompey than SWP. 1 We have no money. 2. He doesn't seem that keen. 3. We can't afford his wages. This chase is almost laughable
7.26 and some toenail clippings. The Times today suggests we're after him on loan but I thought we'd already ruled that out by having Sahar from Chelski on loan (only one per PL club)
74p and half a packet of chocolate raisins - Are we there yet?
Blimey i must have someone elses jeans on, 84.23...if thats the case, i'm going to the pub tonight!!
I will arrange a whip round in the pub tonight but doubt I will raise too much. We only have 150 quid at the moment think we might struggle.
Well ive just bought my lotto tickets for tonights roll over on line so who knows, i might just be able to add 10 by tonight!
1.28 and half a lettuce here - must be getting close
Penton: Well I haven't seen you play, but I'm willing to be you'll do better on the right wing than Diop, so you're in.
Should have caught me before I went shopping today. I can chuck a pound in and some lovely cherries I bought on Winchester market.
Right Fellas ... I've had the ready reckner out and so far we have ... 147.89, a bottletop, some toenail clippings, half a packet of choclate raisins and 10 chance of a share of an estimate 16 million if Penton doesn't go to the pub.. Do I approach big Phil now or wait until the lotto draw ...
Glad you didn't include the cherries Chix, cos I've just eaten them!
Sorry chaps, down to my last 8m.
Gandor I was in Winchester as well , I might have seen you! I put a small bet on Baros scoring against England and I won 45, the only time ive ever won anything! I'll put that towards the SWP fund.
No9, I had my Vital Pompey Teeshirt on today!
Name dropping again eh! But seriously I am looking down the back of the sofa suggest we all do the same.
I looked down the back of my sofa & found Nugent hiding from Harry.
Matt thats a classic!!!!
Gandor, i'd already said that Saints could have one of those cherries on loan. As they're cost cutting measures hadn't produced any fruit!
Bad news folks, just checked the tickets, Didn't win, so we're a tenner light!!
Right the calculator has been working overtime as it stands at the minute (given Penton picked the wrong numbers tut-tut) we have ... Assuming Matt will donate his 8m.. 8,000.193.89, 5 bottletops (I've added a few), some toenail clippings, half a packet of chocolate raisins, some cherry pips and oh and David Nugent.... We are geting there aren't we ?
well nugent adds at most 42p on to that... 8,000,194.31
And tomorrow I could do a boot sale... i have two foot spa's, a bread maker, a jamie oliver mixer and a packet of coloured condoms to flog. Reckon i should get a least 3 quid
Ok so the Condoms are in Pompey colours, which are worth 3 quid, The rest, i'll fly tip,.. But hey! it all adds
pompey fan in scouse land, any one wanna buy some wheel trims ? for a good cause :)
failing that i will look after your car outside Goodison next week for a tenner a pop :) all reasonable donations to the SWP cause accepted....
Ha ha ha Southport...not very pc!...but hey!
I've heard you can make some really good money busking. At least 100.00 for the day. Do we have any talent here at Vital Portsmouth? I can volunteer for the tambourine. Maybe we can get John Westwood on drums and trumpet for the day. Chix can do a jig with his blue hair. Anyone else?
Got a better idea. We can shake tins outside the Visitors entrance on Monday night. ManU have got loadsa money. We could wear our Vital Portsmouth Tee shirts and blue sashes. Yes?
We gotta start thinking big!
Drew a blank in the pub - no one about very quiet night. Only found 14p, two buttons and an old sweet paper down the back of the sofa, :-(
The totaliser has been working overtime over night and as it stands at mo we have ... 8,000,197.31, 12 bottletops (I've added a few more still), some toenail clippings, half a packet of chocolate raisins, some cherry pips David Nugent @42p some Pompey coloured condoms, at least a tenner from Southport, a 100 pledge from the Gandor Do Dah Band and I reckon we could get at least a grand from the 'shaking tin' exercise - We are nearly half way there but I think Gandor is right we need to think bigger.. anybody willing to sell their car?... house?.... body ?..... even wife perhaps ?
A teenager, I don't want alot for him, as he doesn't exactly do alot. If you want a room turned into a Tracey Emmin art piece then he's you're boy...could be cheap for any poormans budding Charles Sattchi's out there!!! Start your Modern art collection right here.
hmmm, i did have a 20 not in my pocket, a third of a bottle of water, a couple of packs of beef flavour hula hoops and a couple of twix's when i got of the train in cosham last night... however my cousin phoned me and said to meet him outside the pub and he would walk back with me - the 'minor' details he forgot to tell me was that this would be after a few drinks! so i only have crumpled up fiver, some small change and the mentioned food less one twix!
... but i did find richard duffy hiding in the spare room... thats not going to be much help tho is it :-)
Richard who??...........
Penton.....teenagers bedroom into Racey Emmin art piece...classic, But oh so ture!
The Vital Pompey I know and love.......PRICELESS!
I can chip in, better late than never. I have 5.09 in loose change in my pocket and D Traore sitting on my cat post.
Wot about that talking cat of yours Sneakay - got to be worth a bob or two?
So we are into day two - The totaliser total now stands at ... 8,001,312.83, 18 bottletops (I've added a few more still), some toenail clippings, half a packet of chocolate raisins, some cherry pips. some Pompey coloured condoms, a pre-order for 20k on a Teacy Eminenesque masterpiece, Rugs crumpled up fiver, a third of a bottle of water, a couple of packs of beef flavour hula hoops and a twix..Oh and Richard Duffy and Djimi Traore and Sneakays cat..
..but I've managed to sell Sea-juicers Boat...
Shh.. don't tell a soul..
...So I reckon with every put together we've got 8.1m.. I'm gonna make that phone call to Big Phil later this morning and I'll let you know how I get on ...
Invite him down to Portsmouth Chix. We'll make him a nice spag bol and a give him a glass of chianti, I reckon that should do it.
My hubby reckons that if I'm cooking we can't go wrong. He can give us SWP or we can make him eat it!
Gandor .. He's arriving at yours at about 7pm on Wednesday..that's Big Phil not SWP.. only problem is he spending Tuesday evening at the Moyes household and apparently Mrs Moyes makes a fish supper to die for .. I reckon you better stock up on the old mushrooms and make sure it's best quality mince you use... none of this Waitrose packet stuff..
