Give me 5th in the league please...

Give me 5th in the league please...

Pompey to finish 5th is what I most want this season, not my vote, yours - and these findings from Et_tu_Pompeii's poll are thoughts I would like in the context of options given but do not entirely agree with to be honest as I would probably take a league cup win over this!

Finishing in 5th place would be fantastic and would be an incredible achievement for Pompey. With this it would bring in more money and have even more players looking at Pompey are a club they would want to play for even more than most often 'claim' they would anyway - if we could afford them...

A lot of players look at league placing ahead of anything else when deciding where to go and whilst I do think we are capable of finishing 5th other than the accolade that goes with it, and of course the extra money, what do you actually get?

If you win a cup, any cup even the league cup; you have the glory of being the best! You have that cup final day out and the joy of winning a trophy as well.

So as much as I would like to finish 5th, to be honest I would trade this with a win in the league cup. Clearly I would like to win any of the cups we are in this season, and we could do this but defending the FA cup is something I would dearly love to see us do this season! That said I would be over the moon with 5th place of course...

  • What the poll asked - If you could only have one of these, which would it be?

  • How you voted - Finish 5th in the Premier League 64%, Win the Carling Cup 25%, Reach the UEFA Cup semi finals 6%, Reach the FA Cup Final 5%,

  • Current Poll - The building of what we think is the greatest premier league 11 carries on.

Who would you pick as the best left midfielder/winger to have played, or still be playing in the premier league - this is what sneakay wants to know with this, as his quest for the best XI continues - 'You are voting for your all time starting XI of the Premier League. The position is left midfield' Let the poll do the talking before we do when it finishes.

Before we move on what are your thoughts on what the last poll concluded? You know what to do, thoughts below please guys...

That was a tough poll to choose, and I must admit I took 5th place. If the option to have Carling or FA cup and 6th place I might have gone for that.

We are going to have to improve dramatically if we want to finish anywhere near the top 4

It was a tough choice but league position is always of prime importance in my opinion.
