Redknapp rules out signing Wright-Phillips

Redknapp rules out signing Wright-Phillips

Harry Redknapp has told The News that buying Shaun Wright-Phillips is not an option available to him: 'if I could go and buy a good right winger now, I would do.

'If I had the money, I would buy Shaun Wright-Phillips.

'But that's out of the question now, I haven't got that sort of money.'

Do not be overly fooled by this guys, as he says 'buy him' he is not ruling out the option of 'loaning him!'

Whilst I am not saying this will happen do not be surprised to see him maybe arrive on loan before the end of the month - it all depends on league rulings really, some suggestions are that we can only have 2 players on loan from premier league sides at a maximum of 1 player per premier league club, which means our quota is filled by the loan signing of Ben Sahar from Chelski...

Either way the Pompey manager knows a bargain when he sees it - as we know, so he is hoping to find what he sees as a 'Kanu style bargain' or two arrive before the end of the month: 'I'll try to go and find someone like Kanu.

'Everyone told me he was finished, but I didn't care what anyone else thought.

'Now I'm looking to find another two or three Kanu's in different positions, who can come in here and do a job for us.'

'arry will do the business for us, he will pull a rabbit or two out of the hat before the transfer deadline closes I am sure of it!

scratch that then, the rules are never in our favour lol! Presonally i reckon Belhadji might now go to the higest bidder as a sale rather than a lone which leaves the 2 "Kanu's" Appiah and Sorin. Could be worse!

Wooooooo Appiah, another central midfielder. Another defensive midfielder! Just what Pompey need. So that's Hughes, Diarra, Diop, Davis, Mvuemba and Kaboul. I'll only welcome Appiah, if we shift one of the previous and spend the money on a fu*king winger!

coudlnt agree more but it aint going to happen is it! Kaboul shouldnt even be allowed near the midfield. if we dont get a right winger soon then dont see much option other than to play GJ out there or to play wingbacks again with GJ. Its either that or Little is all of a suddern good enough to play out there of Utaka has had a rocket up.... welll u know were.... Still think Sorin is the type of player to become a Harry Pompey legend though....

I think Mikael Silvestre for 750k isnt too bad, he can play at LB.

Sorin will be another 'Kanu'. He is on a free and still has a few years left in him. If we cant afford an attacking midfielder how about playing King Kanu there! (lol). In the ACN he was playing behind the strikers for Nigeria and he created chances.

Guess we will have to just wait and see now, I like arry's quote ikn the News "I'll show you how to manage", well thats great, be good to start by putting players in their proper postions. GJ on rigt wing, Cranie right back for me. Not sure on the loan rulings, but if there is any way of the league screwing with us then I'm sure they will go out of their way to do it.

You certainly can't be proud of the fact your manager likes the past his prime leftovers and blatantly state it? I don't know what it is about 'Arry that makes me dislike him, I think it's the way he comes out and talks up about how Villa are favorites to sign the likes of Kaboul (even though we clearly weren't in for him) and goes on to whine about not having money to buy a SPECIFIC player but would want him on loan. Guys, Chelsea is not going to LOAN SWP.

l-a-v that is the media hype that most clubs do at some time. Not only do false statements go out, but agents start rumours as well all because it 'a good read'. Deals are done way before the official announcement is done and Arry will give the old sob story about resources or whatever as a smoke screen. There will be one or two anouncements on Friday as that is press day it seems for Pompey and we will have probably Appiah, Belhadj and SWP if the rules allow.

how do you know villa werent in for kaboul? unless you are close to the player, or have ties with villa you wouldnt know!
why be unhappy if 'arry is able to get those that people say are 'washed up' and get the best out of them? if he wasnt doing that then yes i wouldnt be happy...

Id rather have Sorin that Silvestre, only advantages of Silvestre is that he knows the prem and he would be cover in the middle as well, still think Sorin might be able to give us a little bit of flair if he can stay fit
