'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Dr Harry Rednife

DECEMBER 2005

Dr Harold 'Ripper' Redknapp has been given the task of putting the heart back into the Portsmouth Football team, so lacking in blood and guts and moral fibre, this astute physician will undertake the task with some technical assistance. Dr Redknapp first graduated from the School of Medicine at Bournemouth where he progressed to the London College of Surgeons at West Ham. He received Honours whilst at Portsmouth prior to operating on Death Row further down the coast.

This is likely to be a slow operation, performed under general anaesthetic. Dr Redknapp spoke optimistically about our patients chances of survival 'I will inject new blood into them, get the legs pumping and give it the heart that it once had. If I couldn't do the job, I wouldn't be here'. Chairman Milan Mandaric endorsed..'This is a professional man, one of the best in the business. I have brought him here to do a difficult job, to breathe new life into our frail patient. I am confident that the operation will be a successful one'

So what’s gone wrong? I asked around a few Pompy mates and you all seemed ecstatic that Harry was brought back and now everyone seems to have turned against him.
BlindJak
ONly the vocal ones are against him, the majority still know that he is the only one to keep us up or bring us back, so unless the fans stop the peti squabbles and back him we are doomed, as im sure he will walk if he feels the fans are against him. Then What? i dont see the Managers queueing to get in
Terence
Fair enough. From the outside it seemed like the damage was really done before Harry got there.
BlindJak
yer it was really but the minority are against him
lmatthews
Still would love Harry to stay but think he might be forced to walk the plank come May. Remember Milan Mandaric only has 50% say now.
pompeygray
to give a team heart, you need players with heart, that you cannot teach or coach, its natural
paultsmouth
yer quashie had that! i hate to say it. Also in reponse to you pompeygray although it is 50/50 milan is stiill the chairmen so would get the final say.
lmatthews
The Casting vote indeed...mind you he hasn't sacked many Managers has he....oops. He should keep HRH (Harry Redknapp Happy)
pompeygray
It's a shame then that the press use a vocal minority to paint a picture that all fans want him out.
BlindJak
Personally I have a soft spot for Harry and respect the fratton faithful a lot for being constantly the loudest bunch of home supporters around. I personally hope you guys can stay up but if I’m honest am beginning to think it very unlikely.
BlindJak
I would like to Hear the Fratton Faithfull sing his name. Show the world we are back, and hopefully the team will be spured along on the back of it. I have heard that a few people have tried to get the Harry Songs going in the Fratton end, but get told to shut it, by Johnny and his band of merry men???? If this is true, its a shame, after all, we all know Johnny loves Pompey, but he shouldnt have the right to call all the shots? after all we all love Pompey.
Terence
Johnny has to much say in the Fratton End. He is meant to be our No.1 supporter, Christ if he represents our club then we are in trouble. Most other grounds hate him because of his attitude. And remember this is the man that PFC supported in his hour of need when he was about to be banned from every ground in the league for being pissed...It's about time someone reminded him of this and start supporting Harry and the team.
nelson
Looking forward to the What was Westwood thinking caption. He has more Tattoos than Edinburgh ever had. I dot refer to our Ex Player.
pompeygray
Is Johnny the fella who dresses up and rings the bell at every game?
BlindJak
He sure is...as for that bugle it would be O.K. if he could play the bloody thing.
