O'Neil Not Going To Charlton

I was all set to turn my computer off and go to bed after a hard day at work.

The time now is eleven forty and my eyes are just about shut. I know what your thinking… hurry up and tell us what this story is about.

Well basically there was an article on newsnow from a Charlton site claiming that Gary O'Neil is top of Curbs wanted list and a bid of four million would secure his services.

There are three problems;

1)Gary O'Neil will likely move to a big club (no disrespect, well not much.)
2)Portsmouth will want at least five million.
3)They made it up! Why is Curbs going to make a shortlist now and reveal it to a fans website?

I agree I think this story is off the Curb. I think as loyal as O'Neill is, he still wants to play Premier League football and there are better options than Charlton - from a financial perspective.

We've had him so long he's part of the furniture...and that stuff goes back a long way.
pompeygray
i wonder if he will stay if we go down
lmatthews
I hope so but by name he could be G.O.N.E ill
pompeygray
Why go somewhere where he MIGHT play, when he can stay somewhere where he WILL play. He hated not getting in the team before, and hated going on loan, you dont jump out of the pan, so i think he will stay, atleast for 1 year to try and get us back up.

hmmm thats a very very good point but i reckon it will be around 5 mill 4 him
