Vital Football's fantasy football game - reminder

This is a refresher article to remind those of you that are not currently involved to join up for the Vital fantasy football games... they are a bit of fun, free to enter and best of all can win you, and this site cash prizes!

How to enter...
The Vital Football fantasy football game is back for full details on its re-launch click here...

The success in its first year was phenomenal, so be sure to a part of it again this time round.

As before it is a very simple to enter and will take minimal time and effort to get a team together, and registered into the game. This should be a bit of fun for us throughout the 2008/09 season - we can also share some banter!

To take part in this simple but effective, yet best of all free to enter game you do not even need to be a member of Vital Pompey - although it would help! Simply go to and follow the instructions.

Please note that you can change you team up to, and including the cut off point on the first day of the season without using up any transfers in the process. Sometimes players come and go, so you might want to make changes!

Vital Pompey mini league...
Last season I set up a Vital Pompey mini league where the members of this site could then add their team to the league and we could put our wits against each other - so I have created a league again!

Once you have registered your team simply go to the 'join a mini league' section and put in the details below to join, which are:

League name: Pompey Mini League
Password: Pompey

Nice and simple!

The only rules for you to join the Vital Pompey mini league are that you must be a Vital Pompey member - sign up here.

The prizes...
There will again be a £5000 prize fund on offer from Vital Football - with the overall winner receiving a £1,000 cash prize, with cash prizes going to the runner up, 3rd, 4th and 5th places too!

Monthly prizes, for the manager who amasses the most points each month, will also dished out - they receive £250 each time.

Prizes are also dished out at the end of the season for the top 3 mini leagues so if we can get Vital Pompey into the top 3 - and we just missed out last season as I think we came 4th - we can win the site £250 for 1st or £125 for 2nd or 3rd!

If we won anything on this I would re-invest the full amount back into Vital Pompey the following season, either offering the amounts as cash prizes throughout the season or, and I think this is better purchasing items such as match tickets, DVD's, shirts etc. to be used as prizes.

Vital Pompey, and then ultimately you the members will benefit if we can get a massive Pompey mini league up and running, and get this into the top 3 at the end of the season so get yourself into the game! We have over 1,000 members so lets get as many of us signed up for this to benefit the site!

As for the Vital Pompey mini league as far as I am concerned for this season with prizes, as I am feeling generous I will supply the winner of this with a little something, do not go expecting a season ticket or anything as I am not feeling that generous, if I could afford it I would... I will confirm prizes in the coming weeks, but will probably offer prizes to 1st, 2nd and 3rd, all of which come out of my own pocket! I will also throw in a bonus prize if anyone from Vital Pompey can crack the top 5 overall at the end of the season!

Get involved...
This is quick, easy, effective and best of all free! And to think there is five grands worth of cash up for grabs as prizes on a game that is free to enter, as my old man would say 'cant be bad'...

Do not forget you can change your team up to, and including the first day of the season so it does not matter if players come and go you can make changes that do not count towards your transfers!

It is a bit of fun and should get some banter going - I will get something set-up in the forum and will do weekly updates on this like I did last season - so I hope plenty of you get involved again, and plenty of us did last season.

Tell your friends, family, neighbours, work mates, anyone and everyone!

So who is in?

Hold your houses - there's more...
Also, for those of you interested in the Championship, league one and league two these leagues also have a Fantasy Football game running this season specifically for these Divisions.

Vital Football has teamed up with The Telegraph and 442 to make this possible, so simply click the links below for more information on each if you are a junky for Fantasy Football games and cannot get enough.

These are also absolutely free to enter and have £5000 worth of prizes on offer!

Chaplin secured

Chaplin had a contract with Pompey until 2018 but ahead of the disappointing Notts County defeat he extended his contract with the Blues until 2019.

On this day in history...25th October

A look back at this day in history, and what was happening with Pompey courtesy of our sister site PompeyRama, 25th October.

Another Fratton disappointment

That 2nd half on Saturday against Notts County was woeful - absolutely awful wasn't it. The first 15-minutes or so of it was like a pre-season friendly to pre-season!

Match highlights - Pompey 1-2 Notts County

What a disappointment that was! The 1st half wasn't bad, in fact large chunks of it were good but the 2nd half was just woeful with a soft centred Pompey beaten 2-1 by Notts County.
