Subotic On Why Competition For Places Is Good!

Portsmouth may have a wealth of options up front but striker Danijel Subotic explains why competition can only be a good thing.

We're getting to know our new boy Peter Crouch. He is a funny guy. He is such a good player. I think I will learn a lot from him. He's really tall but he has amazing technique and a great touch.

Having the competition is a good thing; it is what makes you better. If I was older, say 25 or 26, I would be worried but I have time. I know I am going to be a player for the future. Training and playing with people like Crouch, Kanu, and Jermain Defoe is great for me - I will improve every day.

They are all such different types of striker. If I can take something from each of them, it can only be good for my game. As I said in my last diary, Kanu is one of the best strikers ever - as long as he is here I can improve and learn a lot.

If he can't learn good things from some of these guys, he never will.

I guess this was said before he knew about the move.
pompeyyong
it still applies tho doesnt it as he will return...
pompeyrug
Yes and he will get a chance to play around with the things he picked up from each striker and see what works for him in a competitive environment. Should be good for him.
pompeywa
Carpet is right he has been sent out to Zulte Waragem for a loan spell.

We have a great formula for success = 1x buy player / player straight on loan = sold at end of season for a loss... hmmm now why cant we pay our VAT bill
russellm
He seems very keen to impress, so lets hope he has the talent to go with it.
sneakay
seemed like he played well for the reserves when he got the chance, i really think we will see good things from danijel in the future.
