Little a plus point for Redknapp

Glen Little recovered from his pre-season injury scare at Bournemouth to feature in our Nigerian tour, and he came on for the injured John Utaka yesterday as we lost to Manyoo.

Harry Redknapp had praise for him, but is disappointed with others who he says are not performing to the level he is looking for them to be doing so this season: 'I thought Glen Little had a good game for us. He showed what he can do and I really think he'll be a good signing.

'There were one or two other things too, but a few of the players were poor.

'United were a class apart, especially Paul Scholes. What a player.

'They moved the ball around like we couldn't. It showed we are going to need a few players to get through the season.'

I was not able to watch or listen to the game, so I do not know much about it at all so cannot really make much comment, but if Little performed well it would not surprise me as like I have said before I too believe he will be a good signing, and a better one than many might think.

Anyone who saw the game able to verify this? That might mean Man U supporters (as the match may only have been available on their channel!), but I'm sure they're big enough to give a reasonable assessment.

I did see about 20 minutes of this via a link on the Internet. Little did do OK in what I saw. We did look very laboured and Manyoo looked quite impressive, even with some of their C squad out. Still looks like we have a bit to do in terms of fitness and new faces.

yea i thought manu pretty much rolled over us with there squad and by no means was that a full strength manu squad there B squad at best which is Very worrying. i don't think we held the ball enough we didn't have the presence or skill in the middle and tbh the most annoying think to me was to see defends launchin the ball up to crouch just for manu to bring it straight back to us pointless really, and the defending wasn't all that good either, altho Little was good and had a few decent crosses etc, utaka looked alright b4 he went off as well, but we really missed diarra or muntari in the middle with there skill. well that all seem incrediable pesamistic but James was a good as ever lol

I think GL will do very well, especially with his crosses for the boys upfront. As for Manyoo we'll see what we are made of when we've played them in the proper games coming up. I feel a prayer coming on!!!

I watched the whole game, and when glen came on he was by far our best player. he played on the left, cutting inside oocasionally, but he put in quality crosses with left and right foot and worked his socks off

Also, did anyone see jermaine's goal? very well worked on his own. He's looking alright for the start fo the season, but poor crouchie was marked out the game by vidic who was quality.

i saw the game through a internet link , little was immense when he came on he was going round uniteds left back easliy but when he wasnt on utaka done oky but overall it was not a fantastic proformance but we can do much better

BlueArmy's on the money, as strange as it seems, Little was by far our best player on the day, no one else looked like they wanted to go forward!!

It sounds like we may have a problem in midfield this seas unless Harry can sort out some magic.I know our usual back four have not played together yet, but the players that have sem to be getting beaten ver easily whih is a slight worry!

no i didnt see the game but ``Litle was a player i liked to watch when he was at burnley

Yeah he was good. Didn't think much of anyone else's performance in particular though. The midfield looks disconbobulated...absolutely no flow. I'd sooner get a skilled ball moving midfielder than SWP to be honest. You get the impression that we are one or two such players away from stitching it all together. Right now, looks as if Crouch & Defoe are stuck on an island miles from any traffic.
