The Sun says that we will miss out on Shaun Wright-Phillips as our interest 'has cooled' due to the asking price - so Villa will nip in and secure him for £8m...

As we have been told, a host of players are looking to be moved on and according to The Independent, as we seek to raise funds, these will be: John Utaka, Sean Davis, Richard Hughes and Pedro Mendes. All are 'apparently' on the 'must be sold' list...

Although the same paper - and various others - are running the Noe Pamarot to Hull story again, with it believed we are looking to also move him on in an attempt to raise some cash.

And finally, despite public comments to the contrary, Sulley Muntari remains very much on the wanted list for Inter - but they will not meet the £15m asking price. Sky Sport Italia claims that Inter already have 'a provisional contract agreement with Muntari' with 'a three-year deal allegedly worth £1.7m but would rise to £2.2m at the end of the first season at San Siro'. Unless we agree to drop our asking price to £10m - a price they will not go above - the reports went on to claim they will look elsewhere.

So there we have it guys, a pretty eventful day with some 'interesting' news - but what do we think of it? As always thoughts below...

No doubt a lot is going on behind the scenes to get things sorted. The longer it goes on the more you worry it might not.

No problem, we'll keep The Munter, then.

Surely we can afford SWP for a piddling 8 million? Eat those pizzas, boys.

I can't believe that anyone at the club expected to get SWP for less than 8 million. Chelsea don't need the money like Liverpool did with Crouchy, so you know you're not going to get him dirt cheap just to avoid losing him for nowt next summer. So I'm not buying that for a minute, as we would deserve to lose him if we thought that. I can well believe that Hughes, Davis and Utaka could be on the way out, but I have my doubts about Noe. Can't see him raising enough to be worth losing some versatile defensive cover. Utaka might come good this year, but with SWP coming in ( and I do believe he will ) and with plenty of strikers, he's surplus to requirements and may well move on.

inter milan have approached pompey about muntari, if they offered 15m i would take it but anything less i wouldnt, i hope we dont sell Pamarot & Mendes as they are invaluable squad players and will not kick up a fuss being on the bench but at the same time are more than capable of coming on and doing the business. would not mind selling Hughes, Davies & Utaka, Hughes & Davies work really hard for the team but are coming to a time in their career were they need to play every week, and then there Utaka who is one of the laziest players i have ever seen, he could be such a awsome player but is to lazy would not mind selling him but cant see who buy him!
