Crouch adds his backing to Wright-Phillips bid

Crouch adds his backing to Wright-Phillips bid

Since his return Peter Crouch has already said that he would be happy to finish his career with Pompey, now he has added his support to the bid to bring Chelski winger Shaun Wright-Phillips to the club.

Harry Redknapp has repeatedly expressed his desire to land the England man and speaking to Radio Solent on the matter Crouch added: 'Shaun is a fantastic player. If the manager can pull the signing off, it would be great for everyone here.'

I do not think that there are many Pompey fans who would not want us to sign the player, but all we can do is sit and wait and see if he can become 'top quality' signing number 2...

Speaking of Crouch, he and Jermain Defoe will start together for the first time tonight when we face Bournemouth. We also face Dorchester as well with David James playing in that game. Both games are expected to feature strong sides, with most players likely to get the full 90 minutes.
