The weekend rant - Sepp Blatter!

The weekend rant - Sepp Blatter!

Sepp Blatter - how much of a fool is this man? How stupid and insensitive is he, and the most worrying thing is he is the one that governs world football!

To be honest I have not really had the time to look into what was said completely, and not had the time to write anything before but this has been bubbling away over the past few days. However I think that I know enough of what he did say, and have festered on this enough to know that his comments and thoughts are absolutely out of line, and any doubts that I had that giving someone like him as much 'power' as he has was dangerous have been confirmed.

Putting aside the fact that his 'modern day footballers are treated like slaves' thoughts are absolutely preposterous considering that most, a) get paid millions of pounds a year and, b) these footballers basically run the show now anyway as they have all the power these days, his use of the word 'slave' is probably one of the most inappropriate words he could have ever used!

Look at the word 'slave' and what it actually means, and what this has meant in years gone by - a slave is one of the most underprivileged individuals you could ever come across that is subjected to the most horrendous mistreatment imaginable in most instances! So comparing multi-millionaire footballers to slaves is one of the most offensive and insensitive things I have ever heard and proves to me that Blatter is a bigger w****r than I ever thought he was...

Cristiano Ronaldo is not much better himself for agreeing with him! How much does he get paid at Manyoo, probably £100,000 a week - not a bad payout for a 'slave' is it! Let the Portuguese ponce go to Madrid if it means that much to him, one player does not make a team so Sir Alex should tell him to p**s off to Spain!

Why is Blatter sticking his beak in on this Ronaldo issue anyway, what's it got to do with him? Unless he is a Madrid fan or something, even though he should remain completely impartial - although from his previous thoughts we know he cannot do this...

A person in a position of such power and responsibility as he is should not be making outrageous statements like this, and others that he has. To be honest he should not have public opinions on anything that does not involve him should he. The same goes for Michel Platini, so whilst I am ranting why is this muppet constantly giving it all that as well? Personal, private opinions that both have on issues not concerning them should remain just that, personal and private!

Even if the 'slave' thoughts were overlooked - which for me the cannot, and should not as they were more than enough anyway, in a day and age when we know that contracts are basically 'not worth the paper they are printed on', instead of trying to help bring more power back to the clubs to make these worthwhile - granted it has to maybe be an even balance but the players have far too much control these days - he basically said, that contracts are worthless, even if this was not said in so many words...

The most worrying thing is Blatter probably will not show any remorse - to my knowledge has not apologised for anything so far, so as he does not have anyone to answer to he probably will not. Anyone that works with him would be brushed aside if they challenge him on this.

How this fella remains in his position despite his constant cock-ups baffles me, his latest gaffe tops the lot I reckon, not because it is so unfounded but because it was so deeply inappropriate and offence...

I think most people in England think Bladder & Splatini are a pair of useless konts. They talk crap to wind up the English. They are very jealous of the money in the English game & the success it brings. Bladder wants to be famous for changing gold into base metal & Splatini is a frog it. Time to fight back.

Bladder is a corrupt incompetent who is kept there by the countries that pay him, it is interesting to note that none of the top Euro teams voted for him. Every out burst requires an equally stupid attention seeking out burst by that other ego *****tini

Great rant Rug, Son and I were having the same chat last night. Blatter out, someone with the interests of football at heart in!

You just have to wonder about some of the power poeple in the world, if it's not Blatter it's the President of the US of A or our good old Prince Philip. They all seem to be able to open their mouths before their brains (if they have one) start up.

His choice of words is really quite offensive and becomes more so, the more you think about it. Especially given that there are still forms of slavery in the world today. And as for Ronaldo picking up on it, and I read today refusing to apologise. Starting to think that for all his talent English football would be better off without this spoiled prima-donna.

Have spent several holidays in the Caribbean and I have to say that there are people over there who are still very very bitter about the slave trade etc. They really have not forgotten and probably never will. For this prat to liken footballers to slaves is absolutely unforgivable. Instead of joining Real, Ronaldho should take a trip around one of the old sugar cane factory museums or visit the docks museum to see what being a slave really was. Your absolutely right Tracy, we don't want his sort here.

Interestingly though Gandor Blatter relies on small countires in the caribbean (and other such places) for votes.. With each country allowed one vote he 'alledgedly' oils the palms of the smaller countries, they vote for him and even though the europeans don't he remains in power .. But if as you suggest (and I agree, as travelled parts of area too) the islands in the caribbean do get upset.. he could well have made one hell of a slip-up this time

Pompey's form at Fratton has been impressive this season with our home return coming against Notts County off the back of wins at Leyton Orient and a point at Plymouth last Saturday.

Tollitt confident he'll have a Pompey future

Cook's already said the loan Tollitt is undertaking with Tranmere doesn't mean an end to his Pompey career as this isn't a forerunner to a Blues exit in the New Year.
