Fixture change - Pompey v Stoke

Our involvement - hopefully long term! - in this seasons uefa cup will see plenty of fixture changes as a result, add these to no doubt countless other changes for coverage on the box the number of 3pm kick off times on a Saturday could become quite low... our first confirmed change as a result of the uefa cup is our fixture against Stoke at Fratton.

The game, originally planned for 3pm on Saturday 4th October has been moved to Sunday 5th with the kick off time to be confirmed - although I would suspect this will still be a 3pm? This has been changed as we will have our uefa cup 1st round 1st leg game on Thursday 2nd, wherever that may be and whoever it may be against...

Our away fixture with Citeh, pencilled in for 3pm on Saturday 20th September will also change as the 1st round 1st leg will take place on Thursday 18th, so this will either move to Sunday or maybe even Monday - but this is pure guess work on my part at this point in time as nothing has been confirmed.

The changing of the Stoke game will work in my favour, but maybe not everyone else's? If we are at home in the 2nd leg of the uefa cup, as I have the Thursday and the Friday off work I can just extend my stay in Pompey and come home after the Stoke game, if we are away then at least I can come home from wherever I have been and get a train up on the Saturday, without having to worry about rushing straight to the game! I am sure you all wanted to know this useless information, so I will stop sharing now...

This should be a home banker whenever we play them. As said we trust our euro jolly won't effect a league form. Here is a classic example!!!

The first of the league game moves. When will sky and setanta be announcing the live games?
sneakay
We should have another fixture moved as we play the first uefa cup match on Thursday 18th. So the Saturday game with Man City (I think) will go to a Sunday. Providing they qualify, which they should, they would play the Thursday too.
storagematt
pay attention matt - i already mentioned that above in my ramblings :-)
pompeyrug
sneakay my sentiments exactly. When will Sky and Sultana announce their schedules? Lots more moves to come - I would bet that about twenty of the original fixtures dates will be changed.
eastneydave
Well one thing is for sure - that is that there will not be a 'Super Sunday' or whatever it was called featuring Manure, Chelski, Arse-nal, and Liverp00l as the fixtures don't clash this season. Joy oh joy.
sneakay
yep i need to know asap so i can start booking train tickets - earlier i book the cheaper they are!
pompeyrug
Yes, sorry Rug. 100 lines, I must read what you say before i go bull at a gate.

Yeah ... I drives me mad all this swapping and changing... Don't they realise people have comittments other than watching football and maybe just maybe the 'little people' would like to plan things too ....
