'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Crouch move almost complete

We all know its happening, but Peter Crouch's return to Pompey is a mere formality now...

Although the Pompey Site has not said anything yet - but Harry Redknapp and Linvoy Primus have - the Liverpool Site has, with a Liverpool spokesman confirming: 'we have reached a verbal agreement with Portsmouth and have given them permission to speak with Peter.'

The general reports are that he is now set to have a medical; if he is not already - it is said the deal might not be officially announced today due to the time it takes for a medical and the travelling involved.

So, we might not get it 100% confirmed today, with tomorrow looking more likely but he is on his way back that much is almost certain now!

Looks like the final value is being estimated at 11 mill although I am sure the actual price will be undisclosed! Wow, 2008 could well be the best year we have ever seen as Pompey Supporters. Win the FA Cup, get some great signings that we had only dreamt of eg Defoe and Crouch, maybe SWP, Training Ground and Stadium plans could go through and building could start next year!

Awesome..keepng fingers crossed that it all goes smoothly..It's like a brilliant dream -10 milllion spent on a player ,4 current England Internationals,FA CUP holders, a potentially potent strke force..(.just don't want to wake up & find out Lee Bradburys our star player)
yellowcheesemonkey
Hey! I always liked Bradbury. Remember Lee Mills?
Pompeyscum
Remember Lee Chapman? (actually he had a half decent goals a game ratio)

Rug, it may not happen tomorrow as sky just said that no one doubts the deal will go through there are still some personal terms to be agreed.

wot a team we will have next season : James Johnson Mensah / Kaboul / Campbell distin Bridge swp mendes / muntari diarra kranjcar Defoe Crouch 7 possible england internationals !
stfc ballboy
Hate to say it stfc but Mensah signed for Wigan did he not, or did I dream that one?
sneakay
Not sure if Mensah would have been a good signing for us. Ii think you can have too many Africans, we have enough. Back to the English please.
storagematt
And Scummers get half a million in a sell on clause.

... there's a downside to every story Dave... ah well it might mean they can afford to pay Rupert Lowe's food bill ...
Chix
another dead duck sir?
russellm
When he arrives who do you think he will partner? I can only see him playing alongside Defoe as him and Kanu would be too much alike.
dazza71
you're building yourself a good team. think you can make the top five?
