Talking Pompey with 007

Talking Pompey with 007

Vital Pompey has previously brought you the 'knowing me knowing you series' - which is still running, so others will be added and if you want to do one just email - now we have a little something extra this summer...

007 was asked 5 quick questions, this is what they said.

  • What are you expecting from Pompey in the coming season?
Everyone is expecting further improvement. I would just like consolidation and more attractive play, with certain players showing more commitment and consistency.

  • Uefa cup - are you a fan of us being in this, or are you against it? Either way how well do you reckon we can do?
UEFA Cup, it's got to be good for Pompey in many ways. It's a chance for a number of players to be seen in competitive games who would not normally play. That in itself is exciting. Cannot judge our performance, it depends so much on the draw.

  • Which 3 players - that we could realistically sign - would you like to see arrive this summer?
I will not name three players, but emphasise that we need a wideman who can go around the outside as opposed to just cutting in, a playmaker and a left back/central defender.

  • If you had to select 1 player to get shot of - or maybe to rephrase or make this decision easier, 'sacrifice' - to make a signing who would it be and why?
One player to go, obviously Utaka, I do not believe he will come good. Controversially, Campbell as I think his lack of mobility will become much more apparent, or Muntari who could sometimes get a job in Hollywood as the invisible man.

  • How many Pompey games do you expect to make this season?
Pompey games to watch, sadly none, unless Chix can carry out his promised mobility cure.

Thanks to 007 for answering these.

i see many of sulley muntari when he in italy on Udinese Calcio and he better for longer in the game than when at Pompey but he more temper then too. he talk of move from Udinese Calcio to Stadio Olimpico before he arrive on Pompey but he needed england football for career. he will get more better for pompey on new season i am sure

Northampton (h) - Securing home advantage?

Some could view this as a 'dead rubber!' It isn't as Champions Northampton will want to end on a high and Pompey will want 'an advantage' against Plymouth in the play-offs. Right?

    Pompey MotM at Hartlepool

Pompey went into the penultimate game with a slim chance of a top 3 finish. A 2-0 win at Hartlepool saw the Blues do what we needed but wins for others ended those chances.
