Muntari pledges his future to Pompey - for now...

Sulley Muntari has become the latest Pompey player to come out and pledge his future to the club.

Juventus were 'said' to be interested in the Ghanaian - something they have denied - with Muntari claiming further interest in him from others but has told been quoted as telling Brila FM - the same African radio station Kanu was quoted as telling his 'I deserve more' to recently: 'I'm aware that many clubs are interested in my signature but I'm enjoying myself at Portsmouth and for now, I'm not thinking of leaving the club.'

Nice of him to commit, not so keen on the 'for now' part as this gives the implication that he would be off in a shot if someone came in for him, which to be fair if it was a 'bigger club' which would see him make 'a step forward' you would understand wouldn't you.

Niko Kranjcar, Lassana Diarra - who spurned Spurs' advances - and now Muntari all committing to Pompey is good news, as keeping our better players is essential for our continued steps forward.

Muntari was very hit and miss last season to be honest, but I am convinced we will see the best of him this season and then his I am happy 'for now' thoughts could well come into play...

Another day, and yet more Peter Crouch talk, but it wouldn't be the same without it would it - he will sign soon enough though!

This time it is news that a final £10m virtual 'take it or leave it' offer has been made for the England man... Liverpool will take it as the scousers need the money, they know it and we know it, they cannot risk trying to hold out for anymore as I cannot see anyone being willing to go any higher than that, and with less than a year on his contract why should they!

Besides he wants to come here and is not interested in going elsewhere - apparently.

And finally, with Peter Storrie having denied having any knowledge of the whole 'Kanu believes that Kanu deserves more issue' Kanu is quoted in The News as saying: 'there are just some little details that we need to discuss. But I will sign the contract.'

How best to dodge pre-season training again this summer could well be 'the little details' I reckon...

Come on Scousers, just take the money so the player can join up with the club at last, and you can get on with buying Barry. Pleased about Muntari, although it's sad how so many players have to make comments committing to the club after only half a season to two seasons.....it's the new nature of football I guess....

I expect much more from Muntari next season. He can go missing sometimes. He & Diarra have to work a unit. As Crouch, I wonder whether all this talk about Robbie Keane & Gareth Barry is having some impact on Liverpool's judgement?

Good news about Muntari as keeping our midfield intact should strenghen us for next season. I firmly believe that Crouch will be unveiled tomorrow sowe can concentrate on SWP.

Friday Press Conference eh! You lads will have me walking to the training ground again - only a mile from where I work - to get an exclusive I suppose. Would be great and I agree with Matt Muntari should perform this season.

He'd better pull his socks up or he'll playing somewhere else whether he likes it or not. I'd give he and Utaka until January.

What are Kanus little issues- more money, a 2 year contract and a guaranteed place in the starting line up?
