'If It's Football, It's Vital'

I guess just this once wont hurt...

The lot down the road have not had a lot to shout about recently, but for once in recent years it looks as though they might be about to get one over their 'bigger - and better - brother' with setanta sports claiming that the Saints will beat us to the signing of Morgan Schneiderlin.

The French under 19 captain has been linked with Pompey, but wanted assurances over a first team place. With us unwilling to offer him this, if reports are to be believed he decided that he did not really want to come here - so be it... It is said that he will sign a 5 year contract with the Saints, as they will give him that guaranteed football.

Maybe he will become a world star, but there will be others so if this does happen, and as they have not had much to shout about in recent times with us well and truly looking down on them after donkies years of it being the over way round I will not see this as too much of a 'snub' to be honest, and they can have their moment in the sun.

I am still not quite sure how they could afford Schneiderlin though to be honest as the fee that we were claimed to have offered Strasbourg was 1m - given their current financial plight could they even afford this...

We could put that 1m that we will save towards the Peter Crouch fund couldn't we!

Where would they have found 1 mill from, unless they are going to pay it over 5 years? I can't imagine they just found that money behind the goal or anything.
sneakay
Well if he wants guarantees he ain't going to get them from us. If wants to play for a successful team he ain't gonna get it from them either.
storagematt
Obviously the kid's a moron, so i'm not gonna lose any sleep over this.
SUAC51
A player that wants to play football rather than earn more money. Unique....Nuge take note!
bluedr
Well Sneaky they won't have found it in the corners will they? They've closed them for next season!! Ha Ha Ha
pentonpompey
Good luck to him, not one we'll hear much about in the relegation battlers next season!
Tantona
lol in all fairness to the kid tho its kinda nice to actually hear a footballer turn down a far superior club with a lot more money to play regularly football
pompeym@
I see the lad is quoted as saying the S***hampton have a good record for bringing youngsters through. Our record for developing youngsters is abysmal and this lad won't be the last to do this until we sort it out.
Steve C
he has gone to so******ton and in the future will sign 4 us
stfc ballboy
Well his statement says that he basically was not happy to be in the reserves, even though he couldn't force himself into a regular first team place in France.
sneakay
Rug quite frankly you would get a game with scum, perhapse the player hopes that he will be succesfull with Lowe and the other dead ducks, get himself seen on the telly and snapped up. He wont have had a colapop style tackle in his life ..."ouch..... fuq that anybody got the moby number for harry"
russellm
but still i you got to admire his Diara style attitude
russellm
Russell I thought Rug was a good footballer! Where have they found the money?
eastneydave
can't be any good - I mean, if you were any good would you play for the Scum? No of course not. How did they persuade him? Bunged his mum a couple of loaves, I reckon, oh, and some butter. That's all it takes.
Et_tu_Pompeii
The new 3rd Division Dutch manager will get them going - a top 23 fin ish this seasson, I reckon.
Et_tu_Pompeii
good luck to the lad because he will be playin in the league 1 soon !!!!!! lol
stfc ballboy
It'll be interesting to see how the scummer develops ...
Chix
Let him get a bit of experience with them, and see if he's any good, if he is we'll get him later. If not, nothing lost.
tracyc
Quite agree Tracy.. Although It will be interesting to keep an eye on him won' it ..
Chix
Face it, Scummers are OUR development side these days, saves loaning him to the that Belgian outfit
paultsmouth
