A Pompey milestone reached!

A Pompey milestone reached!

Vital Pompey has seen quite a growth in what is almost a year under my control as 'the landlord' - yep you have had my 'ramblings' for almost a year already - but recently we have reached a milestone, with this being the membership count ticking past 1000! It is now quite a way past this in fact...

By doing this we have joined a select few in the Vital Football community to have 1000 or more members, but still have some way to go to catch some of the biggest and best out there, with the likes of Spurs and Villa, who are the Daddies of Vital Football, way out in front - but it can be done!

When I took over the running of the site, which without blowing my own trumpet I feel has benefited it a great deal, we had less than 500 members - in under a year this has doubled, with the growth mainly happening from the end of 2007 onwards.

We are getting well over 2m hits per month, with this being the case for the past 5 months in a row, which lets face it is phenomenal. We have a regular band of 100 or so of these 1000 plus members contributing each month via comments and/or poll votes, which is not bad - but lets get more involved guys.

Its time to kick on, lets increase these numbers in terms of hits, members and those that contribute as just imagine how much better - even though things are fantastic now! - things could be if more of us got involved? Around 10% of us do this regularly at the moment but just imagine what it would be like if we could increase this to say at least 25%...

Big Ben returns!

There's no doubting how important Davies is to us, we most definitely missed the former Sheffield United man against Orient but Cook's confirmed he'll start against Bristol Rovers.

Winning over the fans

Cook feels he still has to 'win over a proportion' of the fans at Pompey?

Tubbs surprised...in a way he has a point

5-goals in a combined total of 8-matches isn't a bad return is it so having made his move to Eastleigh this week I get Tubbs' point at his surprise Cook wasn't selecting him.

Pompey Predictions League - update no.28

The Pompey predictions league is very much part of this site now! This continued with a defeat to Orient last Saturday.
