Euro 2008 prediction league update #3

Euro 2008 prediction league update #3

The group matches at Euro 2008 are now out of the way, Holland still look a good bet to win the thing, but Croatia and Spain are also unbeaten so far...

Portugal have quality, Germany always seem to 'get it right when it matters', the Italians have been pretty poor but have improved, their so called 'aging side' has suddenly become an 'experienced side' one following their progression to the last 8. Turkey are an outsider, but they never give up whereas the Russians have transformed into a team that look threatening so the tournament is wide open!

With these games out of the way we can also look at the Euro 2008 predictions league and see that UKTony is still leading the way despite his claims that he would 'drop off', with his latest offering as he tries to play his poker face being 'when you're top of the heap, there is only one direction to go and that's down. I fully expect to live up to this prediction over the next 7 days'

Gandor remains the one that is propping up the rest with a big fat zero points... Again though, as previously pointed out in all fairness she has only predicted a couple of results.

This is how top 3 currently stands:
1. UKTony - 67
2. pompeyyong - 52
3. Chix - 51

You can still enter - and in the knock out rounds the bonus points on offer are even greater, so join the fun guys, as that is what this is - but you could also win this item...

I could a few of these strikers for missing sitters. It's playing havoc with my predictions. That with completely getting it wrong isn't helping either.

    No Crawley return for Tubbs

Tubbs doesn't have a future at Pompey, he's on the transfer-list but offloading him could be difficult given his wages. These wouldn't be anywhere within Crawley's reach.

Pitfalls of Sheffield Wednesday loanee returning

As Catlin put it 'the gamble' of aiming sign Sheffield Wednesday loanee Lavery has to be one Pompey fans understand. It isn't as cut and dried as saying 'he's a free agent' sign him!

    Lassie coming home...well sort of!

A-box-to-box player, capable of defensive duties, with ability to burst forward with intent to make things happen - Diarra is Pompey's man and wants an England return. I jest of course!

    Will pair stay at Fratton?

It's been made (more than once) clear by Catlin Pompey want Davies & Hollands to stay. Both (also more than once) have said they want to this - deals have to be right for all concerned.
