Pompey competition wrap up

The domestic season is well and truly over, the dust has settled so the time is well overdue for me to do a complete wrap up of the winners, and of course losers from last seasons competitions... All winners have been contacted, so get back to me if you have not already and we will arrange getting items to you.

Vital Fantasy Football - 'Pompey mini league'

The winner of the inaugural Vital Fantasy Football 'Pompey mini league' was Crazy Cats, who with 1359pts in total managed to prove himself as 'the king' of this site - finishing in 11th place overall from over 4900 entrants, not bad eh!

Maradona_kebab would prove his closest challenger over the course of the season, his 1318pts saw a 2nd place finish - 52nd overall with The Pompey Chimes on the same points but finishing in 3rd on 1318pts in total - 53rd overall.

The Harriers would have picked up the wooden spoon, but in all fairness this manager was not in the game from the very beginning, so I am afraid this 'honour' is bestowed to Wakeys Champs, as they were in this from the beginning, picking up 671pts in total...

'Pompey predictions league'

The winner of the first ever Pompey Predictions League, and as such can claim the honour of officially being 'the best at predicting Pompey's results' is, in case you did not already know this - drum roll please... Steaming, who amassed 83pts in total to win by 9pts in the end. He has won the official season review for 2007/08 on DVD.

Technically I finished as the runner up on 74pt, but I could not very well present myself with a prize could I - although next season I will make myself eligible so watch out! - so the winner of this runners up prize of the Pompey Flag, which can be put in the window of your home or in the car goes to a man who is better at predicting than he is his spelling... Of course none other than the blue haired boy himself Chix, he managed 70pts in total.

Despite finishing 4th, with the way others have been bumped up one by my own bowing out the winner of this 3rd place prize, which was for the Small Pennant is all the way from the land down under... One of several of our Aussie members, a fella that made the gruelling trek over for the cup final, the one and only pompeygray, who finished just a point behind the blue haired one with 69pts in total.

The 'monthly prize winner', which saw a monthly winner picked from each of the monthly winners, who won a much sought after, and now collectors item Vital Pompey T-Shirt was... and although I cannot say for sure will fit you, although I reckon it should - if not it will one of your kids - is paultsmouth. His monthly total of 10pts for October actually saw him share this with linvoyforengland so once this month was picked these two names had to be separated by another draw, which paultsmouth won...

Speaking of T-Shirts we have a couple of designs sorted for the 'new' European design, so check them out, European Tour T-Shirts - here, they are well worth a look!

As they were in from the very beginning, although in fairness they did not predict week in week out StuartM is officially the worst Pompey predictor amassing zero points throughout the season with whatever predictions were made!

I look forward to both of these competitions again next season, hopefully all will re-enter along with many, many more?

Finances permitting I will aim to spice up the prices, and might, just might actually offer a prize to each monthly winner, the credit crunch has hit 'the landlord' hard as well though guys...

Congratulations to "Crazy Cats", who I think led throughout, I was stuck generally somewhere from 2nd to 4th, but never had top spot, Scott Mc - 'Manager' of "Maradona_kebab". Enjoyed the league, thanks for running it guys. Will have a bash at the predictions league next season if that's ok.
