Diop Not Ready To Close The Door On Senegal

Papa Bouba Diop on why he'll never close the door on international duty for Senegal and why he's saving his best football for the Premier League.

"My country, Senegal, are now playing their qualifying games for World Cup 2010. I have not been involved so far but I haven't had an argument with the coach or anything like that.

"For now I am concentrating on Pompey. I want to make sure I play my best football for them. If something happens and the team needs my experience I will be more than happy to come back and help. I am not retiring from international football. The door is always open for me to come back if I'm needed."

Let's hope he has had an eye test this summer. Here is the goal, here is the ball. Now aim for the goal & not the seagulls!!!

We could do with a goal like the one he scored against Manure, that was a belter!
sneakay
Oh yes, great goal, he scored a few for Fulham but f a for us!!!

lets just hope that his commitment to pompey can be repaid with performances and hopefully 'at least' one goal next season!
tbh i still dont think he will play anywhere near as big a role for us next season tho.

Agreed Rug, "HR" persisted with this big man and he remained a big disappointment, I think most fans felt better alternatives were on the sidelines.

I think it depends on who we keep in our midfield so many rumors about who's going , but if we keep the main starters I can also see him playing less this season, maybe more in Europe.
pompeyyong
yep, certainly more in europe, less in the league...
