The returning of a vital component! Hmm...

The returning of a vital component! Hmm...

Fear ye not guys, the missing link of our squad from January onwards is no more.

Cast aside the doubts, the fears and the concerns that the one and only vital cog in our well oiled machine would leave...

Many a sleepless night has been had since he left - albeit it only temporarily earlier in the year, and many more since with concerns that maybe this prized asset could be plucked from us.

A fee was agreed but thankfully the move to take the legendary Djimi Traore to Rennes permanently appears to have fallen through, so he is 'coming home'.

Djimi's back! For now anyway...

In all seriousness, I am very surprised that he has returned but it appears that his possible 'excessive' demands have scuppered any hope of staying with Rennes - who did want him and had reportedly agreed a fee.

Clearly if he was not already 'surplus to requirements' before going out on loan, which he was, he is most definitely this now following an outburst against Harry Redknapp and Pompey shortly after returning to France, saying that he did not intend to return and also questioned his, and the English method.

When he signed some 18 months ago to say I was 'less than impressed' would have been putting it lightly - those of you familiar to this site for some time might remember my 'pre landlord' days rant about his signing - but to be fair as you have to I came round and gave him and break and in all fairness he came in for a short period and did a job that was asked. Having fulfilled this job I cannot see him being back here for long, and if he is he is going to be very much on the outside looking in...

If nothing else it increases the squad size!

For a bloke who gets a bad rap, he played really well for us before he went out on loan (in the handful of appearances he was given)!! He was crap for a while before that, admittedly...

djimi did a job for a while, which in all fairness he did quite well - that goal line clearance against arsenal was fantastic. but now the time has come for him to move on...

No More Quarter Final Replays For Pompey

Should Portsmouth progress through to an FA Cup quarter final from the 2016/17 season onwards, the game will no longer be subject to a replay.

On this day in history...27th May

A look back at this day in history, and what was happening with Pompey courtesy of our sister site PompeyRama, 27th May.

Chesterfield's O'Shea targeted

Although so far Pompey have had two bids turned down for Chesterfield's O'Shea. Will, assuming another bid (as it's expected) is made, it be third time luck for the Blues?

It wasn't Real Madrid but Bristol City isn't bad!

Contrary to what I just wrote (muppet that I am) this isn't at Fratton this is at Ashton Gate with Pompey heading to Bristol City on Saturday 30th July, with a 3pm kick-off.
