'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Jamo's backing Croatia, what about you?

David James has said today that Croatia are the team that he will be backing at Euro 2008 because of his Pompey teammate Niko Kranjcar.

Before the injury to Eduardo I was giving a fair amount of backing to the Croats and despite the fact that he will be missing with the quality and experience that they have, as well as the fact they have Kranjcar I too am still backing them to go far, and think they will, possible even far enough to win it. I have also even put my money where my mouth is...

Clearly I will keep an eye our for Lassana Diarra with his French side and Milan Baros and the Czech Republic who 'might' do something but I am Croatian this summer.

What about the rest of you guys, from all over the Vital network, not just Vital Pompey, who are you backing this summer?

Remember you can also take part in the Euro 2008 Predictions League this summer to win a prize!

Good old Jamo, if McLaren had had half a brain and picked him over Carson Croatia wouldn't be there! (Well, less likelihood of it anyway). I'm tipping France.

Croatia for me
Et_tu_Pompeii
i'm croatian too! Spain, france and Italy all have a really go chance of winning it - spain have the best squad from what i can see - but sinnce when did that mean anything?
pompeycarpet
oh, germany, portugal, and a few others also have a decent chance of making it to the final...
pompeycarpet
I'm Croatian for the time being, shall keep a close eye on the French but only cos of Diarra,

Has anybody seen how the draw pans out. In group A & B, the winners & runners up paly each other in the QFs. Then those winners paly each other in the semis. Same with groups C & D. With Germany, Croatia & Portugal in A & B they can't play the likes of Holland, Italy, France & Spain until the final. Very odd. My tip is France.

croatia ftw def ad the odds arn't too bad atm either =)

Tantona,i think Croatia had already qualified no matter who was in goal for the second England v Croatia game, hope all you guys enjoy Modric pulling the strings against Austria this evening!
CoxintheBox
croatia qualified - and deserved to qualify. it was russia who stole our slot with there stupid plastic pitch!
pompeycarpet
Croatia will find it hard meeting Portugal in the quarters then Germany in the semi, but the other side of the draw is even tougher
pompeyyong
Germany to win.
frattonaussie
I think Germany will win as they have the 'easier' route to the final, but I will be cheering for Croatia, oh and all my fantasy players! Big up Podolski!

I'm backing Croatia cos of Niko - not sure he had too good a match last night though. Of course when France play tonight I'll be cheering for them because of Diarra. England didn't fail to qualify because of just one goal or just one match, it was being rubbish over a long campaign - and they were rubbish because McClaren wouldn't pick the best players, and I don't think his motivational skills were up to much either. Niko's goal against Carson just underlined that Jamo should have been in goal.

I wasn't bothered really but now it's started, it's brought it home to me how *****e it is that England aren't there too. For my money I'm going for the Czech Republic or an outsider like Sweden.

When Carson was in goal at the Fratton end a few months ago, the Pompey fans were singing something to him I couldn't understand. Eventually I worked out "you f****d our summer up". Being new to football, I didn't know what they meant. I sure as hell know now................ Can't really get exercised over the euros to be honest.
Gandor
It's the Dutch for me.... They will turn on the style and they don't concede goals ..
