Transfer targets not signing? Ah well, next...

It is being reported that Pompey are facing 'a double transfer snub' from Richard Dunne and Zoltan Gera.

Dunne seemed certain to leave Citeh, but now looks as though he will stay with them following the appointment of Mark Hughes. They may have a new manager but I suspect that the thoughts and believes of their megalomaniac owner will remain the same, so little will change unless Hughes meets his quite frankly over ambitious aims...

It was thought yesterday that Gera was closing in on a free to Fratton but it is today said that the West Brom man has decided to do a 'Diomansy Kamara' and sees Fulham as a better option?

Ah well, if this happens I am sure we will get over it!

At the end of the day we will be 'linked' to a lot of players, some will sign dozens and dozens of others will not - if they want to come here great, if not so be it we move on and find other players, its quite simple really isn't it!

==========

Whereas The Sun is claiming that we are still 'confident' of signing Shaun Wright-Phillips - for a fee of £8m.

He himself might prefer to wait and see what his Chelski future holds before he moves, but his old man Ian Wright remains convinced that he should make the move away from Chelski, with him hailing the example of Jermain Defoe as one that he could look to follow...

==========

Also, and to round off this little lot there is 'yet more talk' about Dave Nugent... this time it is apparently Stoke that are again back in for him.

He rejected a loan to them last season but the claims are that £4m has been offered for him this time round.

Lets just wait and see eh - one thing that I do know is I am getting pretty fed up with the speculation surrounding him once again, but has this ever really left him since the minute he signed...

Not convinced that Dunne is any more than a lump who had a decent season, always liked Gera, though, would like to see him here - is he good enough for us these days, though? SWP would be a fantastic signing and everything that we and Old Hal want for the club. As for Nuge, I think he should stick around and learn how to play football. If he gets the hang of it, he will enjoy playing in Europe.

I'd take SWP out of all of them. Gera for Fulham at best a sidewards move. They'll still be bottom 8 next season. Shame we didn't them down & kept Reading up.

Shame about Dunne as I think this is one area we need a Prem experienced player in for next season. Sol's days are nearly up!

Nothing to worrying in anything there. I won't get overly upset as us not getting Dunne, and I don't want Gera as I think he is a waste of space.

Nothing will happen with SWP until a manager turns up at Chelski, but no-one seems to want the job at the moment.

Nugent will stay and as soon as the press get that into their heads the better. Go write about someone else and let the guy get on with what he is supposed to be doing!

Ah well, at least the traditional rumour mill keeps things interesting over the summer....unless said rumours come from the mouth of Arry or Storrie it's generally best to take 'em with a pinch of salt, as we all know very well by now :) SWP would be great out of the current bunch though, would certainly sort out our 'Wright' side if he can stay fit and injury free.

It seems Gera is going to move but will decide where in the next few days. I agree with Matt a move to Fulham would not be a move in the right direction. I doubt Chelski will ship out players until they find a new manager but Abramovic buys players so no doubt he will sell them as well!

only another two months of speculation to go Rug, and just wait until the euro's kick off... every goal scorer will be linked with us. Pity the deal wont be Dunne, Gera to fulham shows a lack of ambition so good news there, SWP lightning quick 15 step overs and then run the ball out, thats why he aint fixed at chelski nor england. The big worry for me is Villa are looking to muscle in on the crouch deal, but there are still the euro's...so many links, so little time

Gera would not play much for us, but has a chance to play a lot more at Fulham. Dunne not so sure about him anyway. hope we pick up SWP & Crouch tho.

Big Ben returns!

There's no doubting how important Davies is to us, we most definitely missed the former Sheffield United man against Orient but Cook's confirmed he'll start against Bristol Rovers.
