The Daily Mail are running a story that is saying Sean Davis is on his way out of Pompey and is to link up with his former Pompey teammate Gary O'Neil at Boro.
With 'reports' that we are after the Brazilian playing in Greece, if we really are and have indeed matched their asking price it would be no surprise at all to see Davis move on as his chances would become even slimmer than they currently are - and he is very much out of favour.
This time last year I would have been fine with him being sold, but the early months of last season saw him in fantastic form with him an early candidate for player of the year but arrivals of others saw him pushed well out of the 1st team picture and reports of drunken antics in Spain earlier in the year did not help his cause either.
I would be sad to see him leave, but if his leaving meant that we could keep others, others that will be more influential to the 1st team picture when all is said and done then this would be a sacrifice that I could deal with to be honest. I think he is entering into the last year of his contract too so £2m - albeit maybe a little 'cheap' - would be better than nothing 12 months down the line...
The same paper is also saying that Djimi Traore is about to sign for Rennes for £250,000 - he has been on loan with the French club since January.
To get straight to the point here, he will not be missed at all will he...

it goes back to the argument from back along 007 doesnt it - would we rather have the grafters who offer 100% commitment pretty much all of the time or would we rather have the quality where we might not always get this commitment but they are better players? occassionally you can get both tho in all fairness.
