'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Adams commits for another 12 months

Good news guys Peter Storrie has confirmed that Tony Adams will be staying at Fratton again next season!

Whilst this has been in the pipeline for a few weeks, although he has not yet signed a contract Storrie has told The News that a 'verbal agreement' is in place: 'I have spoken to Tony's agent and it has been verbally agreed for him to stay for another 12 months.

'Obviously we are delighted with this news as he has become a key part of what we are trying to achieve at this football club.

'It is important to keep the whole set-up. Tony, Joe Jordan, Dave Coles and everyone else are a team and Harry likes working with them.

'They have worked very successfully together and the manager wants them all to stay.

'It's great news that this partnership will now continue.'

Continuity is the key thing for us if we are continue our steps forward and this applies to both matters on and off the pitch, with players, manager and coaches alike so keeping Adams for at least another 12 months is great news.

Indeed - Great news! our first TOP signing of the summer!

excellent. now harry can mould tony into the perfect replacement for him, when he decides to call it a day. so much for harry leaving after the fa cup win!

Great news, I know we have great defenders, but having him in the coaching staff has definately helped them be even better.....

Although Adams is not called the defensive coach and HR denies he has anything to do with the defence our back four getes better and better. Must be coincidence!! Great news.

Harry the attacker, tony the defender... tony is the perfect foil for harry, and will hopefully one day make an excellent manager!

Great news, only what we expected, but great to have it confirmed.

I'm pleased Adams is staying. Whatever has been going on back stage this season, we need more of the same for next season. Add a first class striker to go with Defoe and get someone to play on that right wing (or whatever it was that Utaka didn't like), keep Mendes playing with Diarra and I think fifth place is ours?
Gandor
Great news, He is learning from a master and obviously enjoying it

Excellent News ... Tone was the mastermind behind 4-5-1 nad (I think) the key reason the defence were so tight last term.. I think this will be his final year though.. But I said that last year

Got to agree with everyone else, fantastic signing! Not only is he thought to be a key part in forming and organising our stingy defence, but quite possibly he plays a big part in attracting players to the club.
