Quality and quantity...

Quality and quantity...

Peter Storrie has often spoken about the players arriving at Pompey from now on will only be quality - most top, top quality - and nothing less.

'If' the club can pull it off, which I would not bet against at all, he says that with the thoughts of maintaining our league challenge and the added uefa cup for next season we are looking at 'a mixture of three quality players and two other good ones to make sure we have a big enough squad.'

So we can look forward to hopefully three top quality signings, which I would guess means players of an improved quality to virtually walk straight into the starting 11 and another couple, good enough to come in if asked, but not quite at the stage to be 'a regular', but better than merely a squad player?

Would we presume that these amounts be on top of what we already have though? So if anyone goes they too be replaced...

So - and this is something we started with Pompey transfer speculation no.1 - the question is who do you think, or hope these players will be and have you any insights to add as to who they might well be?

Knock yourself out guys!

No More Quarter Final Replays For Pompey

Should Portsmouth progress through to an FA Cup quarter final from the 2016/17 season onwards, the game will no longer be subject to a replay.

On this day in history...27th May

A look back at this day in history, and what was happening with Pompey courtesy of our sister site PompeyRama, 27th May.

Chesterfield's O'Shea targeted

Although so far Pompey have had two bids turned down for Chesterfield's O'Shea. Will, assuming another bid (as it's expected) is made, it be third time luck for the Blues?

It wasn't Real Madrid but Bristol City isn't bad!

Contrary to what I just wrote (muppet that I am) this isn't at Fratton this is at Ashton Gate with Pompey heading to Bristol City on Saturday 30th July, with a 3pm kick-off.
