'If It's Football, It's Vital'

When Sol went up to lift the FA cup...

It is unbelievable to think that almost a week has passed already since Sol Campbell went up to hold aloft the FA cup - when Sol went up to lift the FA cup we were there, we were there... I still cannot stop singing that song!

It seems like only yesterday, as does the victory parade that attracted 200,000 people.

One thing that we do know is that it is a moment that can never be taken away from us, and no matter what the future brings we will always know that we have witnessed Pompey winning one of the biggest prizes and most sought after trophies there is in world football.

All that remains for me to say, with me doing a bit of 'I told you so' is to remind you that even from the very beginning - but even more so with each round that passed - I kept saying 'we would win the cup'. I genuinely believed it, not just hoped it. Even when we had to face Manyoo on their own patch I still had this faith, I said 'I was going to Manchester to see us win, not just for a day out' and kept saying 'our name is on the cup' - and it most certainly is once again now, after such a long wait, forever more...

I have always been proud and unashamed to be a Pompey fan, but I have never been prouder than I am now, and 500m people around the world now know - if they did not before - the name of Portsmouth Football Club, 2008 FA cup winners!

When Sol went up to lift the FA cup we were there, we were there...

Rug - I am your witness you have always said we would win the cup. Now we just say with pride - 'We won the cup' and no-one can ever take that away!

It was an amazing day out and I'm going to live off the memories for some time yet. Now we need to build for next season. I like the rumours about Dunne and think he would be great for us. Then 2 quality strikers, a left back and a right sided midfielder and we could build on this years achievements. For me sacrifices should include Utaka, Nugent, Lauren, Hriedersson and Duffy.

so...if i have supported pompey for 2 seasons, and in each year, we have beaten our previous "best ever season in the premiership", and this season, we won the FA cup...what is going to happen next year???

Time does fly, next season will be here before we know it I feel sure our squad will be stronger but if we don't win anything it won't be a disaster as long as we keep going higher in the prem, we have to remember other teams will be stronger too,& if we win something what a bonus, retain the cup anyone?

yep, if we 'expect' to win anything next season we could be in for a big fall... i know its not impossible at all but if we start expecting to win things this is when fans can soon start turning, and in all honesty as good as i think we will be next season we shouldnt be expecting to win anything - this is not to say that we cant tho :-)

One week after wiining the cup I was in Malta. On the Saturday, I was doing, this time last week we were leaving Pompey. This time last week I was in the ground, I screamed again at the moment we scored etc. My wife, daughter & my parents allowed me my moments to relive it.
