'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Could Danny Haynes be a target?

Danny Haynes might not be a name familiar to everyone but the Ipswich youngster does have something of a reputation as an up and coming player in the Championship, and looks like he 'might' have caught the eye of Harry Redknapp?

You might remember that Haynes impressed against us in the FA cup when we faced Ipswich in the 3rd round in January, with it 'claimed' that his name was mentioned when they came asking about a loan move for Dave Nugent earlier in the season.

The 20-year-old forward, who can play as a right winger or a striker did take part in the 'Friends of Kanu' charity game on Monday, playing for 'the friends' side. His inclusion was a surprise to many, apparently including himself with it said that he does not actually know Kanu personally, he merely got the invite through 'a friend of a friend'. Once again though in this game Haynes is said to have impressed many, and he did score the games opening goal.

'Rumours' in the East Anglian Daily Times are claiming that we could be preparing a £2m bid, which would also including add-ons for appearances, goals and international call ups - West Ham, Everton and Wigan are also said to be interested.

He did look good at the Kanu charity game. Although the game was much more of a training match, Haynes looked very quick and the goal that he scored was very well taken.

Hmmm - not much of a move in all fairness. Seen quite a lot of him in the Championship and is nothing different to the usual fare we get in the 'best league in the world'. I certainly wouldn't put him in the same bracket as Ambrose, Dyer etc who came off the same production line.

I must admit I was wondering about some of the 'guests' and whether we were taking a look at them.
