'If It's Football, It's Vital'

(Not so) secret agent

Rudy Raba, the agent for Spurs defender Younes Kaboul has 'exclusively' told setanta sports that we have 'made an approach' for the defender, who looks as though he will be allowed to leave Spurs this summer: 'Portsmouth have called Tottenham. Now we are waiting for Tottenham to respond.'

Agents love to talk up their clients, so with Pompey being FA cup winners we are a prime candidate to 'link' their clients too, although in all fairness links to Kaboul are a long term thing...

Money will be invested this summer, and I feel a sizable amount so it would not surprise me if he did arrive, if the price was right.

Although he might not have the best of seasons with Spurs he is a talent and at what 21 he has plenty of time ahead of him so learning from the likes of Sol Campbell, Sylvain Distin and Linvoy Primus could only benefit him and he 'could' be the future of the Pompey defence along with Martin Cranie, who I still feel does hold a long term future as a central defender and will be Campbell's eventual successor - but not yet as he is not going anywhere just yet, apparently...

Another 'exclusive' is coming from BBC sport, with them 'understanding' that we are having 'discussions' with Mauro Zarate, the 21-year-old Argentine striker who spent the latter part of the season on loan with Birmingham from Qatar club Al-Saad.

He impressed during his time with Birmingham, and gave us some scary moments during our 4-2 win over them at Fratton this season but I am not convinced by this one to be honest.

With his price ranging from anywhere between 3m and 20m in recent weeks this could be a non-starter?

What do you think your doing? The guy was bought by Tottenham for quiet a bit of money and has barely played and when he has he has been rubbish. A waste of money and with Campbell and Distin around he wont play

pompey u have just won the FA Cup (congratulations by the way) but please for all ur sakes, dont sign this lad. let him drift away to italy where he will be better suited as the play is slower and he will be able 2 just about keep up with the pace. Believe me u guys dont want this guy
ExiL
good luck with him boys,as long as Harry don't talk tactics or try and improve him technically you will be alright, just get donkey to give him belly rubs and cuddles he'll be happy as larry or harry!
parklanebert
Sounds like everyone out there really liks him. lol. I can't see us needing him if we have signed Mensah.
sneakay
sneakay-love him mate he's well good, best def i've ever seen ,reads the game, quick on the turn, tackles, heads, top, top, notch geezer so a straight swap for diara yeah????
parklanebert
We do not want either of these players, if we are looking for a CB then Richard Dunne would be my 1st choice.
bluedr
Came to Spurs & highly rated. No doubt he will do will but yet & not for the prem. No.
storagematt
Can't say I've ever been impressed when I've seen him.
pompey4me
depending on what they would cost i wouldnt mind - i'd think kaboul would be the more likely of the 2 to arrive but dont think he would come cheap...
pompeyrug
Kaboul just came out and dished Ramos so he has no future at Spurs, shame because he was thrown in at the deep end and in a few years will be quality.
TergeHauge
Dunne is available for 2 and a half million pounds. Value?
frattonaussie
love 2 see kaboul alongside distin i feel arry will get him cheap and then turn him into a good solid defender. No 2 zarate cost 2 much.
