'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Can we not just be allowed to get on with it...

Ok, maybe some will argue that Harry Redknapp did not help himself with an interview given recently - speaking about the past, present and future - but 'reports' in today's papers that he is considering quitting after the cup final are unwelcome, and indeed unneeded... In fairness he did not mention quitting anyway, far from it.

Redknapp only the other day denied these 'rumours' saying that he could not walk out on Pompey again - he could not do this now... So why do the papers feel the need to drag this up again? Why not just let us focus on what is important - the upcoming cup final!

Peter Storrie has issued a statement on the Pompey Site countering these allegations...

PLAY UP POMPEY!

===================

PORTSMOUTH FC STATEMENT

Portsmouth Football Club today denied a newspaper report that Harry Redknapp is considering quitting the club after Saturday's FA Cup final against Cardiff at Wembley.

Chief executive Peter Storrie said: "This story is completely untrue. I have spoken to Harry this morning and his sole focus is bringing the FA Cup back to Fratton Park.

"Harry is an integral part of the future plans for Portsmouth Football Club and together we are looking to bring in new players to further strengthen the squad for next season.

"Inaccurate stories of this nature are an unwelcome distraction on the eve of the club's biggest day for more than 50 years."

Al this aggro. Do we need it. It winds us up. The press are bored with real football to talk about, so it's dig up dirt time.

The media try to make the news rather than report the news, which has long been the case. T055ers, all of 'em.
NinjaTim
They are just focussing on us because of the FA Cup final. As of Sunday it will all move on to Avram Grant - Who no doubt according to them will be sacked if he does not win the champions league.

A couple of Welsh idiots working for the Sun.

What people will do for a story! Why try and unsettle HR in what will be the greatest week of his managerial career? The phrase Tim uses will do for me.

Dont think it will make the slightest difference to 'arry and the boys. Come on lads, do it for us long suffering fans!

I suspect Harry was talking unguardedly last Sunday after the team was booed. Someone put two and two together and has come up with 55. Shame on them - hasn't Harry got enough on his plate? Leave him alone! One Harry Rednap, there's only one Harry Rednap!

Everyone is saying this report is a negative for us for the cup. I disagree. I think it is a positive and whether it's true or not doesn't matter. If I was a player and respected the manager, I would want to win even more so he could go out on a high.

I have been reading over the weekend how the Managers of some teams have turned against their players - one in particular has been dead nasty. Harry stuck up for his lads on Sunday big time. They must have been feeling lousy - but Harry came good for them. Can only help the dressing room atmosphere in the run up to the Final.

Arry wont leave PFC. He is there for one reason and one reason only...corrupt Russian £££££££££££££££££££££'s
