Meridian Tonight Report - Update

Meridian Tonight Report - Update

You will probably remember the feature on ITV Meridian Tonight - or at least remember reading about it - on FA cup ticket touting, something that Vital Pompey worked closely with Elisa Mitchell on, if not click here.

Well, she has been in touch with an update, this is what she had to say...

PLAY UP POMPEY!

===============

Straight after our report went out a lady called from the Isle of Wight claiming she had bought two tickets at £58 each from the Euroteam website but when her credit card statement came through she discovered she'd been charged £1983.20. Thankfully Lloyds TSB have been sympathetic and they are not going to make her pay but she is devastated as she has just been made redundant!

I was sent an email by a Vital Pompey member saying he had been let down by Paperticket who charged him £372 for a ticket instead of £350 and then despite promising him each day that the ticket would arrive, today admitted they didn't have enough tickets to fulfil the demand and are going to give him a refund instead.

Another devastated fan said he too had been let down by Paperticket. He bought 4 tickets for members of his family, one of whom is working in China and has paid extra to change his flights to be here and another who is flying in from New York. He found out today that they don't have tickets for him either and he too has been told he'll be refunded.

None of the above are confident that they'll receive their refunds but I am on the case and as I promised I will do everything I can to get their money back!

Interestingly, if you Google FA Cup Final Tickets a line comes up against the name saying 'Tickets Needed - Cash Available' which proves how they have clearly over sold tickets and don't have enough to distribute.

I'm on again on Friday to talk about the above problems and will have a soundbite from the Isle of Wight case study and a clip from Trading Standards and Peter Storrie.

If there are any other cases you know of that need a bit of media pressure to cough up the refunds - please send them my way and I'll try to get them reimbursed.

====================

Speaking of ITV Meridian, I have also been asked to share this information too...

We're looking for fans' video messages of support for Pompey (camera phone is fine) and the best will be shown on Meridian Tonight on Friday.

You can upload them at www.yournews.itvlocal.com/Clip - here

Let others get on TV eh!!

Are there not enough law enforcers out there? Or are they all too busy fining us for 35mph or 5 minutes too long in a car park or over filling a dust bin or walking on the cracks in the pavement or wearing a loud shirt in a built up area. Makes me mad!!!!!!!!!

Doncaster's winless run went on but they remain three points ahead of Plymouth. Carlisle are a further two points back. Leyton Orient and Newport hold the unwanted relegation places.

Video - Barnet 1-1 Pompey

A late Barnet goal looked as though it would end Pompey's unbeaten run but Conor Chaplin proved the saviour when he scored a last minute equaliser to earn a point in a 1-1 draw.
