Rafa wants £15m for Crouch
Liverpool have slapped a £15m price tag on Peter Crouch, with Rafa Benitez saying it is not an 'unreasonable' amount - well probably something more like 'it is no an unreasonable, no?': 'Crouch wants to play every week but knows he must fight it out with Fernando Torres.
'We keep seeing Portsmouth linked with the player but we have had no offer as yet.
'A £15m price tag for Crouch would not be unreasonable.'
£15m and Crouch do not seem to belong in the same sentence really do they? Ok, in this day and age maybe you could argue that this is somewhat on a par with prices, but once again it seems to be a case of 'if you are English your price is higher'.
Benitez will not get £15m for him, he knows this, you know this and I know this... and according to today's papers anyway Crouch knows this as well - and is said to be 'unhappy' at the price put on his head.
I believe that the fella only has a year left on his contract, so who will be crazy enough to pay £15m with that in mind? £10m, absolute maximum would be the top price. Failing that all we - or anyone else has to do - is wait until January, if he still has not signed a new deal then the price will be even lower.
I still feel sure that Crouch will return, we will offer half this amount, they will want more and a compromise eventually agreed...

Yes & we want £25m for Niko. But in the real world, they would accept £8-10m if we are prepared to do a deal, which I hope we do. The little & large of Defoe & Crouch would be great. We have to push on & keep improving, especially where goal scoring is concerned.

Rafa wants £15m for Crouch and I want to have a hareem of nymphomaniac Hollywood babes......I've got a better chance than Rafa. I like Crouch and would like to see him alongside Defoe, but get real Rafa! By the way, how much would it take for West Ham to part with Ashton? Jeez, we could get Henry for less than £15m now (with his Sciatica included)!
