'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Storrie issues Campbell statement...

Peter Storrie has made the following announcement on the Pompey Site following yet more speculation surrounding Sol Campbell and his future with Pompey, with claims today made that Newcastle are on the brink of signing him: 'Sol is happy at Portsmouth and has another year left on his contract.

'He is concentrating on leading the team out at Wembley in the FA Cup final on Saturday week and looking forward to the challenge of the UEFA Cup next season if we beat Cardiff.

'Newspaper reports which emanated from Portugal are totally inaccurate and without any substance.

'No-one at the club has at any time suggested that this will be Sol's last season with us and it is the policy of the club not to speculate on any transfer activity'.

The club will say such things, they have to to protect their investment but to be honest I still feel that Campbell probably will leave this summer, and if he does he will do so with my best wishes - lifting the FA cup would be a great way for it to end.

If he stays all the better, either way I think it is time for the speculation to end as Campbell seems to find it difficult to get his head right at the best of times these days, constant speculation is not going to do him or us any good is it...

9 days from what could/should be one of the greatest days we have all this bollox. We don't discuus transfers until after the season finishes. We don't want to be linked with anyone, coming or going, so shut the fck up.

Peter Storrie denies any transfer activity surrounding Campell and then states club policy denies such subject matter. Oh well!!!

Rubbish, deals are done just not made until the window opens some are rumours (majority I expect) but some are true.
pompeyyong
I would say 95% are rumours pompeyyong, and Matt I agree all the rumours should stop until after the Cup as it could effect player focus. Shame the media won't listen to us.

Storage is spot on, we don't need to hear about who is going where. The main thing is we are all going to Wembley. What happens after that O.K. but the focus is that every paid Pompey player must want to win that cup. End of storrie...I mean story, storry..I mean sorry.

pompeyyong; the benji deal, the yak deal, the Glen Jonson and the David james deal were done and dusted before the window was open. You may wish to not remember the Sol deal rumbled on for about 5 months before he finally came.

Rug will tell you Sol was my pompey hero;i think he is going but i want him to leave on a high
russellm
Oh did i mention the Distin deal was also done and dusted so much so he had signed the first bit of paper at 10am the day after the window opened just before he went on his hols?
russellm
Thanks russelim for confirming my thoughts
