Pompey competition update #36

Vital Fantasy Football - 'Pompey mini league'

There was no change in the Vital Fantasy Football 'Pompey mini league' this week as we move into the final week. Crazy Cats retained top spot for a 4th week running on 1328pts in total, maradona_kebab stayed in 2nd spot for a 2nd week running on 1285pts in total which meant The Pompey Chimes stayed in 3rd also for a 2nd week running with 1283pts in total - top looks secured but the battle for 2nd and 3rd is on!

Crazy Cats, maradona_kebab and The Pompey Chimes are all still in the top 55 of over 4900 entries overall - in 7th, 51st and 54th places respectively - congratulations fellas.

I know it is a bit late in the day now but you can still enter a team starting for the final round of games by going to www.vitalfantasyfootball.co.uk. If you do, also get yourself into the mini league to by using these details.

'Pompey predictions league'

As a few expected another Pompey defeat it was not really that bad a week in the Pompey Predictions League for the penultimate game with Boro.

Et_tu_Pompeii gained the points this week, 2pts for predicting a defeat, another 2pts for the 2-0 scoreline, which gave him a bonus of 5pts for being spot on - so 9pts in total.

There was again no change in the top 3 as steaming remained top for a 7th game running, remaining on 83pts overall. Pompeyrug retained 2nd spot, also for a 7th game running, staying on 74pts overall. Chix kept 3rd spot for a 14th game running staying 70pts in total.

The league season draws to a close on Sunday, but if you missed out on predicting for the Boro game, as well as any others it is not too late - just start with your predictions for the final game at Fulham on Sunday. So if you have not already made your predictions on this game with Fulham do it here.

Nathan Thompson - A Swindon perspective

Prior to his departure for Wigan, Paul Cook wanted Nathan Thompson at Pompey. Interest was retained by Kenny Jackett, who completed his free transfer signing from Swindon last week.

Main man for Pompey? I wouldn't think so

Harsh? Maybe, but do I really feel ex-Middlesbrough, Doncaster and Oldham forward Main will be in Pompey's 1st team, becoming a key member of Jackett's starting XI? Well, no.
