Nathan Dyer to cross the divide?

The News is reporting that Nathan Dyer could become the latest player to switch allegiance from the Saints to Pompey.

Dyer is out of contract this summer, so with Harry Redknapp looking to add some English talent to his squad the fact that he is this, and also a winger - something which our squad is desperately short of and in need of - he seems to fit the bill.

Redknapp knows him from his time with 'them down the road' - he actually gave him his debut - so he is no stranger to our boss. As he is only 20, although he will be a free agent if a new deal is not signed we would need to pay a compensation amount, as we did for Martin Cranie when he crossed the divide last summer.

I know Dyer might like to 'help himself' from time to time but from what I have seen he is a decent little player who would be well worth a punt if you ask me.

interesting. dunno much about him. is he any relation to kieron? most of these "crossings" seem to be truthful. hopefully a good potential with us!

I wonder if he would go straight in the first team or would we nurture him for a couple of years?
UKTony
looks like he has a lot of petential, although i would expect him to come across in similer circumstances to martin cranie - i.e. not play much next season if he did.

A talented young man, let's hope he has learned his lesson.

Must be worth a try Harry is good at spotting young talent

Lock up your Handbags Ladies!!

certainly worth a pop if you ask me, he has the talent so if the price is right snap him up - but also give him a go, if he's good enough he's old enough, same applies to any of our players for next season.
pompeyrug
Agree with you all fellas.. Snap him up and give him a go .. although heed P4me's warning ladies ..especially if nightclubbing in Gunwharf !

I've seen a couple of replays with him playing. Looks OK and puts in more effort than Utaka.

He's a good player, fast and tricky BUT the reason he has not been in the Scum team is that he is school-boy sized and regularly gets knocked off the ball. If he can avoid physical contact he will be a very good prospect. I'd also look closely at Andrew Surman.
Et_tu_Pompeii
just keep your handbags and bog seats safely wrapped up, as johnson and him could become partners lol

sheffield weday have a player on loan from somewhere that plays down the right...looked quite weak (physicly) earlier in the season, but seeoms to have toughened up. very skillful, very quick, and with bags of talent...called something like fred songo'o...no..maybe it was frank sodo'o...either way, he looks good. now which club does he actually belong too...?
