More 'rumours' about Kranjcar and Arsenal

The 'Niko Kranjcar to Arsenal rumours' just will not go away will they - or maybe it is just a case of the same 'rumours' just doing the rounds over and over...

The Mirror are running this again, with his Dad again claiming that he will be off. He will apparently be a £12m replacement for Alexander Hleb, who could be on his way to Inter.

Whilst I do feel that Kranjcar is an Arsenal type player I do not remain convinced that this will happen this summer, although should we be offered something like £12m for him as much as I want to see our best players kept we would have to take it wouldn't we?

Another 'rumour' today is linking Richard Hughes with Palace.

Hughes has said that he is happy with us, and he knows that he is a squad player. I hope that he stays but the possible chance of getting more regular football could tempt him though, particularly if they go up via the play offs so he will stay in the top flight...

All in all these could both happen, but until contracts are signed I will not believe anything!

12M for Niko, whilst a good player I would let him go and bring Gary O back from Boro. That would sort the right side out

No thanks. Admittedly we're not playing well at the moment but we do not need GON or MT back. Trusty servants in their day but as a club we're moving forward.

I could see Kranjcar at Arsenal but the only problem is Wenger is reluctant to spend big money on players.

cant see wenger wanting to spend that much, cant say harry wating to see him leave. hope he doesnt go - as he is exactly the sort of player we need to keep!

If Niko has a good Euros his value will sore. I imagine if the deal is right for all he will go but if not he stays.

i dont want him to go, but if the price is right he will - and i would understand why.
we have missed o'neil more than we have anyone else sold, but he wouldnt come back and as much as i like the fella coming back wouldnt be the right thing for us either - we 'should' be able to fill this problem right sided area this summer...

I don't want Kranjcar to go. the more players we have to replace the more "bedding in" we need to do at the beginning of next season, and that seems to take ages. Unless of course, Harry keeps his word and enlists English Players who are used to playing in the Premier League.

Wenger has been bleating on about the tapping up of Flamini and Hleb, doesn't this smack of a similar vein?

Paults, Wenger lives and plays by his own rules in a special world full of smiling goats.

And if anyone says lets sign Harry Kewell I'll scream.

Whizz I want to hear you scream but Kewell is more likely to head down under for a season. If 12 million is being offered for Kranjcar now and more than one team has already expressed interest, then 14 million should be achievable. That's good money for him so I would sell him and use the money on Crouch and other good players so we get a better balanced team.

I hear you FA and agree with those sentiments. We're a bit lop sided at the moment and it's not even Kranjcar's natural position.

we need to keep him. end of story. harry has said that it costs 150 million to break into the top 4. with niko, that brings it down to 135...we need to keep all our best players, not let the leave!!!

Think we should try hard to keep Nico we find it hard to score goals now without selling one of are best attacking midfielders. We all know we struggle on the right do we want the same problem on the left. Last season Nico played a bit part now this season has come on leaps & bounds. Hard work from Nico & not forgeting the time Harry & the coaches have put in on him. Then we have to spend more time & money to replace him. 12m dosen't sound that much then. after saying all that if he wants to go thats a different story.

if niko goes we will find another 'niko' down the line, its a fact of life being a pompey fan, unless we make constant inroads - learning the season runs from august to may - in the league we will always find it hard to keep our best players... that said even if we did crack the top 5 then when arsenal, inter, barca and so on come knocking we'll always lose players...
no one man is bigger than a club, if he wants to go and it suits us to let him go he will go - but it should be on our terms, not his, bilic's, kranjcar senior, for the best of portsmouth football club - no one else...

i pretty much agree with your sentiments rug but with an average of 19 thousand and no new stadium; if we wasnt the in's there has to be outs and 12mil would just about subsidise Crouch's salary. ;-)although we could put a 1 on Baros to score the odds and return would be about the same... on second thoughts, nah why waste the pound
